classical piano pieces for a beginner?
on: June 01, 2022, 11:47:46 AM

I'm not sure what grade I would be classed as because I've never had lessons but I am making my way through Carol Barratt book one and have played a couple of Czerny etudes, albeit with simplified left hand parts, I can also improvise quite well and play by ear. But I was wondering what pieces from the classical world would be suitable for a relative beginner, and if the scores are available for free download. I used to be to play a simplified version of Chopin's Raindrop Prelude by ear, (its my favourite Chopin piece) but have never seen a sheet for it so I'm not sure how difficult it would be.

Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach has some pieces that could be interesting as well as Schumann's Album for the Young.
Second Year Undergrad:
Bach BWV 914
Beethoven Op. 58
Reger Op. 24 No. 5
Rachmaninoff Op. 39 No. 3 & No. 5
