Rach concerto 2
on: April 17, 2024, 07:14:02 PM
Hello, i got a question. I just finished Chopin nocturne op 48 no 1 and i want to play rachs concerto 2 with string quartet, just the first mvt. Do you think i can play it? or is it much harder.
Thanks for all replies!

Rach concerto 2 has fast passage stuff. The Nocturne really doesn't. I think it's harder than the Nocturne. If you felt comfortable with the Nocturne and feel comfortable with fast passage work you can probably do it.

honestly the style with rach and chopin is very different, i think you can do it, it will just take a while, all i can reccomend you is to take it slow and finger every note! good luck

Rach 2 is a lot more difficult, both technically and musically, than Chopin Op 48 No 1.
Nonetheless, why not give it a try?! On the contrary, if many of your audience will be regular classical concert, then you may wish to re-think to perform in public.
