also wouldn't use it if you paid me, same with Facebook & TikTok.
You do realize that this kind of post would be classified as a phishing attack, right?
lol shut up nobody’s tryna steal anyone’s information
Why are you asking for anyone's information in the first place?
You’re acting like Instagram is a social security number it’s not. It’s like a public journal where people share their interest, desires and beliefs on and people tend to be more active on there so I figured I’d ask
2. If you don't understand the negatives of "social" media, then I'll leave you be. If you do understand those negatives, then you should know better than to do this.
1. I know what Instagram is.2. If you don't understand the negatives of "social" media, then I'll leave you be. If you do understand those negatives, then you should know better than to do this.Let's end this conversation.
No you don’t get to end the convo after saying something so vague without substance.
PIANOSTREET is a type of social media.
Asking for an instragram isn’t a big deal stop being so dramatic.
If you have a problem with Instagram, the app isn’t the problem YOU’RE the problem. It’s an algorithm that’s essentially a reflection of yourself. If you run into a lot of “negative” stuff on it, that’s because you like it. Not because social media is inherently negative.

Do I need to dive in to all the research about this subject and respond to you with dissertations?I'd be more than happy to, if given the promise that you'll bother to read all of it and respond continue with actual discussion."Social media" is a spectrum. When I refer to "social" media, I'm generally referring to the far end of the spectrum; say, a 95/100 or higher. Pianostreet would fall at about a 65-75 (IMO). Since we're currently talking about Instagram (which is close to a 100), pulling PS into this discussion serves no point. From my point of view, there are two possibilities here.1. You don't know enough about cybersecurity to realize that this is a pretty big deal.2. You do know enough about cybersecurity to know that this is a big deal, and are abusing that knowledge. In the case that one is true (which I am almost sure of), you need to research this stuff more for your own safety. In the case that two is true, then go somewhere else.Nice strawman you got there. Never said anything about "me having a problem with Instagram".Also, I don't use Instagram, so your point about me "running into a lot of 'negative' stuff on it being because I like it" is completely irrelevant. And in case you were going to respond with something like:I've spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours looking at the research surrounding the negative and positive effects of "social" media, and of screens in general. If you want, I can give you few things that come to mind. Fair warning though: it probably won't make you very happy, assuming there's no ulterior motive to this thread (which, to be clear, I highly doubt there is).Have a nice day. -Liszt
I’ve been a member and an OG on this forum way before you. Everyone knows I’m a real person and not some bot I’ve been friends with some of these people in real life for over a decade...
Another nothing sandwich Mr. ‘I’ve researched thousands of hours on this but I only know how to be vague’
wym I have an ulterior motive? You sound like one of those crazy conspiracy theorists who thinks everyone’s out to get them
assuming there's no ulterior motive to this thread (which, to be clear, I highly doubt there is).
What does this have to do with our argument over whether or not it's okay to ask for the Instagram usernames of random people? Also, you're argument about being an "OG" on this forum is complete bullsh*t. You joined in 2012, eleven years after the forum was created.I've seen no indication that you'll bother to read any post from me that includes actual evidence...Since you keep responding to random snippets of my posts and taking them out of context. In case you missed the bold/underlined part, read this again:Now, if I see any indication that you're willing to have an actual argument ABOUT THIS SUBJECT, then I'd be more than happy to give you the data (with sources, of course ).Have a nice day. -Liszt
THAT’S why it’s relevant: cause you think I’m some sort of evil mastermind trying to steal your identity
I’ve been here long enough that people know I’m not some bot tryna steal peoples social security’s.
You haven’t done any research and you don’t know what you’re talking about. So what you might do is scramble for some stupid article you can find in 5 minutes and say that’s the culmination of your thousands of hours of research you conspiracy theorist. Or you’ll say something like ‘you’re not ready for my immeasurable, irresistible, absolute thousands of hours of research so I’m not going to share it. By the way I AM an expert on this’
I have explicitly stated that this is the exact OPPOSITE of what I believe. Maybe if I increase the size, it'll help you understand?Guessing you don't know that that's exactly how social engineering works.Alright. I know you're going to completely ignore it and/or say that it's complete bullsh*t (without any evidence to back you up), but I'll get to work on that dissertation you so desperately believe I can't write.Talk to you in 3-5 days.BTW: it's going to be a bit sloppy. I don't have the time to edit an extracurricular essay.
