A longer while ago I heard an interpretation of Chopin's Op.10 No.6 which was really impressive in several ways: first, it was not slowed down as most other interpretations. And I also remember that that interpretation was bringing out completely new lines from the left hand (though I cannot exactly remember how exactly). I just remember that I was quite fond of what I heard, but did not follow up back then.
Now that I look at working on this piece I would so love to find that or similar recordings which do not follow the "usual approach"  that is so common for that etude.
What is your own take on this, how do you like to play it?
Do you know any more unconventional, exciting interpretations of that piece?

Not sure if this is unconventional nor unusually fast, but I just have to throw in my man Alfred when there is a chance:

I'd say the Cortot is it!
I listened to only a few bars, not more - it's too early in the morning for such "pathetique" emotional outpouring.  Chopin wasn't shy about exploring the depths of despair in music...

[ Pathétique is a French term meaning "evoking pity," "deeply emotional," or "passionate," a stark contrast to the modern English sense of "pathetic" as "pitifully inadequate". It is most famously used in classical music to describe works like Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 (the Pathétique Sonata) and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 (the Pathétique Symphony), indicating a work filled with deep emotion, suffering, and a dramatic intensity. ]

Murray Perahia plays Op. 10, No. 6 quite rapidly.  I don't know how provide you with an inline Youtube link, but here's the URL:

That's a pretty fast one. I had a small chuckle at how long that first upbeat 8th note is held, compared to the tempo he then takes.
