donjuan: C2 CA$18,000???
on: March 18, 2005, 03:50:06 PM
Hi donjuan:
<<...Rockitman, which country do you live in?  If you live in the US, I would say $14500 is a horrible price for a GC1.  If you live in Canada, I would say $14500 is an average price for a GC1.

Now, I hope you realize the GC1 doesnt have a full sostenuto pedal- only a bass sustain.  I went with a C2, and got it for $18000 canadian, which is what? $12000 american? Make sure you arent getting ripped off, because those smooth talking salespeople will jump at every oppurtunity...>>

Saw this on another thread; just wondering which part of Canada you are from.  CA$18,000 seems darn good for a C2 brand new. Did you buy it brand new and how long ago? Tom Lee in Vancouver recently quoted me $24,000 for a new one and $22,000 for a near new Conservatory exam loaner. Mind you I did not bargain with them since I wasn't  too sure that is the piano I wanted but to talk it down $6,000 is a really a big stretch, IMHO. Let me know what dealer you dealt with. The GC1 is the one that I am looking at seriously, even that one was listed CA$16,900 (on a sale down about $1,500 from the mid $18,000's according to the salesman) which is a far cry from the average price of CA$14,500 you posted earlier.

Thanks in advance for your reply.
