Any suggestions, Bernhard?
on: May 21, 2005, 12:07:41 AM
Free advice, anyone?
Bernhard, I note you are very good at communicating. As a veteran (meaning old lady
) Mozart player (amateur) who mostly has done stuff from the Baroque through Romantic era, I have assayed to start work on the Shostakovich piano/trumpet concerto.
This is a big departure for me, and I'm rather daunted as I begin to learn it.
I'm good at runs and speed, etc--but the 20th century sequences and harmonies are--well, not exactly falling under my fingers like Mozart.
Suggestions as to how to go about it without getting terminally frustrated?
Thanks!--Teresa
