First of all, I think Volodos is okay, but I think he's not that phenominal as you say.. I'd rather prefer Pletnev (which isn't that well known too these days, just as Volodos)..
Anyway, I saw Volodos once playing at a concert in Eindhoven (The Netherlands), he did some very good things (I believe he played some pieces of Scriabin too, he absolutely played it amazing), but on the other hand.. I wasn't that enthouastic about the pieces he played of Beethoven.. But heey, who am I to criticize

Just wanted to say I'd prefer Pletnev if we're talking about less well known pianists these days

P.S. Haven't heard him playing Rach 3 yet
