leaving pressie for my teacher
on: June 08, 2005, 10:27:14 AM
so i'll most probably be leaving my lovely piano teacher end of this year to go get a uni one
so i was thinking of painting her some nice picture (yes i'm thinking like 6 months prior to giving it to her cos if i don't do it in june/july it'll never get done). except i'm not completely sure of what i should paint. something pianoish of course, i was contemplating of doing something like this (i've posted this somewhere here before)
except maybe different colours, and maybe less monochrome, and i'd put music in the background and blah like if some of you can remember i'm obsessed with. i like the image of the girl in it cos it goes with the whole love of being a piano teacher and watching your students progress as they get older.
but if anyone has any other suggestions then that'd be super! like all you piano teachers out there, what would you really love a painting of?

It's lovely! Did you paint the pic above? I'm sure your teacher would love it.

Put more of you in it.
I'm not saying this picture has any faults, it does not. However, from the limited amount of other works of yours that I have seen, this works seems to be lacking that certain something that makes it yours. For lack of a better way to say it, it lacks a certain quirkiness that you seem to possess and that seems to come through in your work.
I think your piano teacher would love to have something from you that will always remind him/her of who the student was.
Just my 2 cents.

oh yeah that's a really old pic i did it like 2 1/2 years ago, so hopefully i've improved since then! hmmm more of me, that's hard to work out what that is, because i don't really think about it when i'm painting. hmm i'll try some things out soon and see what you all think...
