Myosin motor protein walking on a microtubule filament.

That's sounds like the worst scientific joke ever...

A Myosin motor protein walking on a microtubule filament enters a bar...

I've seen one of these:

I killed one of these:

..hanging off my front fence, yesterday afternoon. The one before that was a few days ago, next to my water heater, and the one before that was just over a week ago, near my washing line.

Aren't those cuties pretty harmless? Not more venomous than wasps and rarely bite unless really provoked?

I am afraid we don't have truly venomous spiders at all...or really big ones.

These are very common on our summer place though:

And there's a colony of these at my balcony:

I always wonder how they manage to survive the winter...and my cats ;)

Okay... How about we agree that you and Outin don't post any more cat pictures in this thread, and I won't go on the internet and find about another 1,000 animated gifs that involve spiders the size of dinner plates maliciously horrifying people at their worst...

Why? I love spiders...I actually found a really cute hairy one yesterday when cleaning. It's very rare to find those in city flats during winter.

I was worried my cats would eat it so I moved it to a safer place. Hopefully it will live a long and productive life and there will be many more around in the future :)

I hit the end key to get to the bottom of the page.  Then the pics start loading (slow connection), and a spider pic pops onto the screen.  I hit end again... Then the page pops up to a spider again.  Ugh...

Poor Bob...Let me tell you a little story: When I was very young I was really disgusted and afraid of spiders. Then I started school in an old wooden building full of spiders. After a while I realized that the boys who tried to bully me were afraid of them as well and I could make them pee their pants by overcoming my fear, catching the spiders and playing with them. So the spiders became my friends and I realized there was nothing to be afraid of :)
