I have been reading a lot about how great the two part inventions are as learning devices, so I have decided to have a go at one that is listed in my AMEB grade 5 syllabus. There were only a few available and of them no. 15 was by far my favourite. (the music can be found for free on this very website)
I have read many of the topics regarding the learning of the two part inventions, especially paying attention to the tips bernhard has given, and I intend to follow his recommended method of learning them...which can be seen at:
https://www.pianostreet.com/smf/index.php/topic,2714.0.htmlI have spent some time looking for the appearances of the motif in this piece and have found what I think might be the motif appearing 7 times in its original form. I am certain though that there is much more here then what I am seeing.
The phrase that I believe is the motif appears first on the treble clef (RH), starting at bar 1: 2nd beat, continuing to and including bar 2: 3rd beat. It can then be found again bar 3- 4 (LH), bar 5-6 (RH), bar 12-13 (LH), bar 14-15 (RH), bar 18-19 (LH) and finally bar 19 (starting on 3+) to bar 21 up to and including the 1st beat.
I am sure that there is much more for me to look for, I just don't know what it might be. Any help would be truly appreciated.
