I have the schubert all learnt, but only a crappy phone to record it on. I will post it tomorrow with a proper camera instead, otherwise you won't be able to hear what's being played anyway.

Indeed it is a lovely piece, but regretfully it is no longer in my feeble repetoire and i lack the motivation to regain it.

Yes, but never very well.

I did not find the Rondo particularly easy and i am not a great fan of broken left hand 10ths.

Okay I'll try the 10/4. But I've played it before. And it's a pregnant dog to me. And I might step out if I don't feel comfortable. But I feel like trying. Okay? :P ;D

So, is this arena dead?
Or perhaps, not yet?

For the record...
Current challenges from me:
Mozart K333 1st movement  . . . due Dec 15
Chopin op. 10 no. 4 . . . due Dec 15, already duelling with Pianowolfi
Chopin op. 25 no. 9 . . . due Dec 20
Rachmaninoff op. 33 no. 7 (for clarification, it's the slow g minor one) . . . due Nov 30
And, just for fun, any two-voice invention, twelve days after duel is confirmed. 8) (Plan to learn them all, might just as well start now...)

Well?

When you say no.49 I assume you mean Hob.49, not sonata 49 (which is in c sharp minor).
I'm up for a duel, how about November 18th? I've nearly finished mvt I, not looked at the 3rd yet but it shouldn't be too bad.

Any one up for a duel on one(or more???) of the following pieces:
Chopin Etude op.10 no. 12 in c-
Chopin Etude op.25 no. 9 in Gb+
Schumann Novelletten no. 1 in F +
Rachmaninoff Prelude op.23 no. 4 in D+
Rachmaninoff Prelude op.32 no. 12 in g#-
Beethoven Sonata op.10 no.3 1st movement/4th movement(or all, but I'd rather it be just the first)
Scriabin Etude op. 42 no.4,5 or 7
Debussy Etude  Pour les Degrés chromatiques

I'd rather any duel be set one month before for preparations etc. as most of these I have to learn(or polish) so any time after Dec 10 is okay, but I'd like to be informed one month ahead.
That's the price you pay for being moderate in everything.  See, if I were you, my name would be Ilovepie.  But that's just me.

I know, you didn't seem like you were being sarcastic. I'm just saying even though I've played it like when I was half my current age, I still find it hard until now(not beethoven sonata hard, just annoying hard). I never was any good at Bach, no matter how "easy." Sure I'm up for it too. XD Tell me when it's due.
EDIT: Actually, scratch that. I don't think I'd wan to learn it ever again... T_T

My recording is ready, I made so many mistakes the first time learning it that I'm seemingly unable to fix them  :(

EDIT: Here it is, it's take two, and not as good as the first, but the first recording had no ornaments, and I suppose they are necessary.

It's nowhere near as good as mcgillcomposer's.  :-[

I think when you learn a piece, you don't realise how many mistakes you made learning it the first time through until you go back. There's definitely way too many tempo fluctuations in mine.

Alright, my video is posted at Google videos:

https://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8821336720048954817

Just a few notes (no pun intended):

- I wasn't sure of the rules that govern a piano duel, so I did not take any liberties in terms of editing the sound or doing several takes. This is take#1 (I sped up a bit near the end...grrr!!!) and no sound editing has been done.
- Sorry for the C quarter-tone flat major
- Sorry for the über bright sound...just had a very competent technician here on Friday...said my piano will take about $4000 worth of work (new hammers, voicing, regulation, tuning) to get it up to a respectable level :(

Anyway...enough of me blabbing...LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
