I've asked before and you avoided the question, so I'll try again. Have you ever played a fugue by anyone other than Bach?
I know there are plenty of others out there.
exactly! (sort of), why does hardly anyone around here (seriously I can read daily and probably see this mentioned 1-3 times if at all in a year) not ever play, discuss, recall, etc one of the greatest composers of all time/the baroque, who happened to write quite a bit of fantastic music accessible to us!?
Handel! coincidentally I am looking t georgy for my next baroque work after my romp with a bach sinfonia i am about to wrap up.
really,he should be explored, his suites in particular are quite outstanding
here is the f minor p& f (one of my favorite keys for these things), considering this as my sinfonia is also in f minor so have some momentum on this key so i'm quite comfortable with it, it will be hard enough to effectively manage four voices in a the fugue without an uncomfortable key siggy
richter and gavrilov thought he was worth the hassle....
ok, sorry for the off topic. i just love this music and when it took stock of how often (or really better said, how little) he is discussed or played around here I was a little shocked.
on music that peole seem to like a lot and that i don't quite understand why, lots of liszt's works, in particular those before his 'late period' (those in the late part of his life i actually love, a lot, but early stuff like the etudes, many of the hung. rhap.s, etc, i don't understand the fascination

)
