Pianistimo's greatest posts
on: March 27, 2013, 06:39:43 PM
This is one of my favorites.

"the grand canyon wasn't even formed until 2350 - accordingly because the huge HUGE amounts of water formed the canyon.  there is no other explaination.  people who say the canyon is eons of time old are just plain wrong.  i have seen it with my two eyes and the FIRST thing that came to mind was - this had to be created by a flood of great magnitude.  carving the canyon with that much water would be impossible by the tiny river below".

That is a very good example.

But the other 12142 are so close, it's hard to choose the greatest.

This thread stands out for me. She demonstrated her consummate skill with  the non sequitur and the red herring in an amazing tour de force until I was compelled to abandon what was a very simple topic.

Since you've arrived in 2011, you must have missed the two most famous pianostreet contributors of all time, pianistimo and bernhard.

I for one willingly put up with the (usually good natured) idiocy of the one for the wisdom of the other.

I won't tell you who's who, you'll have to search.

I'm probably more familiar with bernhard's thoughts than most of those who were here during his time..

Exactly, including a fair wack of stuff that isn't even on pianostreet..

No leather though. Save the cows.

..apparently I need to do the same with pianistimo, should make a good addition to my comedy shelf.

In fairness to Susan (pianonut before pianistimo), she wasn't without a sense of humour. We were all a bit lighter in those days. We used to have quite delightful fantasies in the form of threads about various hypothetical situations, for example the "wrestling" thread:

You do know they don't get killed for their leather, don't you?  ::)

Maccas alone would bind the whole world in leather once a year.

It is not bitching. It is a celebration of her contributions.

Wow!

I read some of this lady's "material".

Impressive ability to leap from one non-related subject to the next with a kind of loony, tireless energy and intelligence "supported" with lots of Biblical references of convenience.

She seems like a happy camper too... not at all malicious from what I read.

Hmmmm.... I'm still trying to "square" this with her carbon dating of the Turin Shroud what with atoms of rocks not fully formed, and various strata in the earth revealing hidden proof, along with Biblical references thereto.

Would've thought she'd wanted some carbon dating of the Grand Canyon too.

And isn't "2350" in the future?  :o

Makes me wonder if m1469 "studied" under her but failed the class?

Using Bishop Usher's chronology, most YECs date the flood to 2348 BC plus or minus 50 or so.

The pyramids were under construction during the period 2500 BC to 2100 BC, which makes one wonder why the Egyptians didn't notice they were under water a full year.  Oh well.

The majority of Christians are not 6,000 year-ers, fortunately.

Perhaps the Egyptians weren't under water.

Not only does it explain the carving out of the Grand Canyon, but also reveals how the Egyptians built the pyramids.

Being expert boat builder, the Egyptians were sub-contracted by Noah to build the Ark, and in so doing gave Noah the time for his administrative duties (passenger gathering and ticketing)

Meanwhile, understanding about water, the Egyptians built a couple of spare Arks of their own plus large barges on which to put the pyramid stones

So, as the flood waters rose, the Egyptians were able to build the pyramids higher and higher -- which took a mere forty days and forty nights (lots of overtime pay there) -- by floating the stones into place with ease and accuracy.

Where's that Pianistimo lady?

I'm sure she'd agree with this idea and put her own unique spin on it.

I think you've solved the mystery.  But I can simplify it a bit.

The Egyptians created the flood with a system of dikes and locks.  As they built the pyramids, they raised the water level locally and floated the stones up on barges, just like you suggest.

Noah lived next door, heard about the project, and got the details wrong.  And we've been telling the story wrong ever since.
