Best edition of early Schönberg?
on: August 14, 2020, 02:29:57 AM
Specifically the Opera 11 and 19.
I didn't put it in "Sheet Music Requests" because I think I have some photocopies someplace, but I was a little disappointed that Henle doesn't seem to have the Op. 11, nor the Op. 19.
Nor does anyone else from a reputable publisher, it seems.
Yes, these are short collections, but they're demanding enough that I'd rather buy a sturdy book that I can mark up with a pencil while I learn them.
So, I guess it comes down to whatever Arnie's widow and his and her estate have decided upon.
Best options?

Probably your best bet::
Op. 11

Op. 19

I've actually been thinking about doing Op. 19 myself lately so I might get these

Thanks. It does seem like Universal is pretty much the only game in town.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to working at the Op. 11 myself: not sure why, but they seem something I can do and a little bit on the lighter side of music, relatively.
