i'm not sure what "popular" means in this context...

he's definitely known... let's say same as khatchaturian or ravel or debussy are (for example)

About the composer:

His best-known three works were composed in his first creation-period and have to do with more than one art.

About the work:

The original version (the one without piano) was meant to be read, played and danced.

he's not german... rhapsody in orange already asked that - you guys tried guessing the composer's nationality and asked just about any european one - except for the actual one (and i thought you'll nail that instantly since we're talking about probably the largest european "producer" of composers :) )
