are these photos before or after the massive weight loss about which you've recently written elsewhere?

Thankfully, before.

Off to Suffolk on a concerto hunt tomorrow and I am taking bike No.3, so hopefully I will burn off considerable calories and come back lighter.

Oh, did you mean that you were diving 20 meters deep? I kinda thought it meant you were diving 20 meters away from that coast... but probably it means you were diving 20 meters deep...  :P That sounds really a lot!!  :o  :P  :)

I also ended up at the Snape which is long associated with England's 37th greatest composer, Benjamin Britten.

At the Snape, you can buy a video of Peter Grimes for £40 and the most expensive cup of coffee in the World.

No - there are quite a few of them in Britain, actually; one was less than ten miles away from Bath where I lived for almost a quarter century and another is around the same distance from where I am now, located in the Golden Valley.

Please list the other 36 in order of precedence.

Can you be so sure that it's the most expensive?

Anyway, the place to which I think you refer is The Maltings at Snape.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed your East Anglian sojourn.

I would hardly expect you to have heard of it but you are nevertheless quite correct in stating that it sounds "sort of Welsh" given its close proximity - within a stone's (Welsh slate's?) throw, that is, look you - to the Welsh border.

Nobody really knows how old it is old chap, but it does appear to have been built in stages and added to at later dates if memory serves.

Various efforts to "find" something inside almost resulted in the collapse of the hill and parts of the summit did indeed fall in. Tons of concrete have now been poured in to protect the hill and any further digs have been banned.

Two nights ago, a very unusual cloud formation covered the entire sky over Auckland. A photo can capture only a section of it, but the sunset lit up a vast dome of hundreds of little clouds, like balls of cotton wool.

Can anyone guess what I was watching here?  :P (I took a picture of a chocolate cause it had a cat face on it  :) , cause I was eating chocolate while watching.... ?)

Oh and you can also see my keyboard in the picture, if Choo sees this, cause I said I would take a picture of my keyboard... so when I want to make this | I just hold the key (above the date on the picture) that is to the right from the long key (at the bottom of the keyboard) where it says AltGr, and then while holding that key I press the W key (under the W there's also a | ).
Oh and also my computer (laptop) this one in the picture just turned 9 years old!!!  :o It was my mum's first. I looked at the oldest files on it and they're from February 21 2003 !!!! and it's still working great (well it is a little slow sometimes but that's just cause it has too many things on it and almost no space left). And we haven't always been treating it all that nicely  :-X I mean my friend's computer was like 3 years old and there was something wrong with it all the time and now it died. So happy birthday my computer! They say they don't make such good computers anymore!  :P

The big one in the middle. You can see an avocado hanging in the central gap of blue sky. There are dozens this year but they take months to ripen.

If  I can see it from this distance it must be a pretty big fruit. Our avocado trees are different here. Generally they grow with a single trunk and rather large leaves. Our principle variety is Haas. Good shot.

I have no idea which species it is. Here is a close-up of one.

Anyone know what this shrub is ? It flowers in the winter and attracts dozens of flies.

The avocado is not a Haas. Haas have dark rough skin. They not larger than a softball and we prefer them smaller. When you open them the pit is free and the skin is free. That makes preparation easy.

I have seen the shinny ones but they are never marked with a name. They are difficult to prepare. Everything is bonded together. We cut them in halves, then slowly turn the halves in opposite directions and remove the pit (if we are lucky).  The rest is up to the diner. In Mexico they serve it with the pit still in.

I have some of those bushes in the yard but I never found out the name. One of mine has grown a trunk the size of a leg.

Our avocados aren't too bad to prepare and come apart pretty easily. The shrub intrigues me because of its attraction for large numbers of blowflies, which are not commonly seen during winter. It attracts honeybees too, but not bumblebees, although I think the seasons are much more clearly defined for bumblebees, and most nests are not active at present. Also, quite a few people around here have beehives in their back gardens, so that could account for it.

I have just found that it is a jade plant, sometimes called a money plant.

Thank you! As far as attracting bees, etc., it is difficult for me to say because we have all sorts of bees everywhere here. My bee man (whose number is in my cell phone) tells me we have several varieties here, not all of them honey producing.

With that jade plant and avocado trees you must live in the same type of climate as I do. We're at about 33 degrees North and 120 degrees West (round numbers).
