I think you've been tangoed. I thought they were Oranges?

Prince Bernhard Bernhard? Can he sue?

Anyway as for the puzzle is it Caesar or some variation. Previous profession, piano teacher. Current profession, haven't you thrown away the "pay me no matter if you turn up or die 3 years in advance" contracts and with the tears still falling down their cheeks to this day, and before they could shout "It was one-sided you see! Sayonara suckers!" run off to some S American country? :)

Let's not go to stereotypes, are you a beggar or drug lord? No? Perhaps you're looking for rare orchids then ;)

well.  it depends what religion you belong to.  the catholics believe 1+1+1=1  and yes. i believe 1+1=1 God  i think the holy spirit is God's mind.  otherwise, WHY would Christ have to be ressurrected tot eh Father for the Holy Spirit to decend (and He said specifically He would SEND the Holy Spirit).  noone has ever answered this to my satisfaction other than the scriptures which speak for themselves.

one God - from eternity.  The Word was WITh God and the Word WAs God.  how is this so?  i haven't a clue.  i guess it's like two married people.  they both have the same name.  they both think alike after 20 years.  and, they both kinda know what each other is thinking.  other than that - i'm really puzzled myself exactly how God is one. but, if He says it is - then it is so.  He divided - just like a cell (making life for everyone).  perhaps He was the first 'cell' division (spirituallY).  just a guess.

since He is a creator - perhaps he is also analogous to our minds as a pregnant woman (except God is the Father of all who have ever lived).  a woman who is prenant is one woman - but she is carrying a child.  God the Father allowed His Son to be born into this world as an example of obedience for us.  if He followed His Father to death - then our choices should not be about worrying about our physical life.  only He has the power to ressurrect us.

i happened to be studying this very thing last weekend.  about the trinity doctrine.  nowhere in the bible is the word TRINITY found!  most people don't know that.  they assume that in greek the Holy Spirit is HE.  but, the Holy Spirit is nongendered and in english would be 'it.'  it can mean more than a being.  it can mean fire (as tongues of fire decended on the apostles)  it can mean a 'dove' - it can take many forms.  they are representations of the mind of God.  He is a consuming fire.  He is also a Counsellor and peacemaker.  He is light.  He is so many things - that perhaps He is MORE than we realize.

now as far as creeds go. the EARLIEST creed was the apostles creed.  II Timothy 1:13 'i charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontias Pilate, that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about at the proper time - He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords; who alone (ALONE - that would mean that noone has ascended into heaven yet!) possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see.  To Him be honor and eternal dominion!  Amen.'

to me, that's a far better creed.  why?  because God overcame evil (by descending to hell before ressurrection to heaven) - it mentions the gospel.  and, makes it clear that it is only through Him that we obtain eternal salvation.

could you PLEASE go 1 or 2 threads without being religiously zealous? You're fine when God isn't part of the subject.

Incidentally, your last 2 posts before this had.... NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC! Nothing! There's a more important rule than the colorful language one at Pianostreet. It's called spamming>:(

Also....

phil13 - go ahead. make my day. explain how 1+1 = 1.

1+1=2. The question is a trick. I even asked whether this was the same as the 2=1 proof. How does solving the puzzle somehow prove to you that my previous comment is not moot???  >:( ??? >:( ???

so is your previous comment moot.  a kindergartner knows 1+ 1.  but a scientific mind thinks it's .9999 x .9999 adinfinitum.  i'd say the kindergartner wins.

1. Some flies are trapped in a sealed jar. You place the jar on a set of scales. The scales will register the greatest weight when the flies are:
   a. sitting on the bottom of the jar
   b. flying around the inside of the jar
   c. neither. The weight will be exactly the same in each case

Since the jar is sealed all the flies are dead or will die inside.  So the weight will stay the same.

I thought we already determined that combining haytacks results in 1 haystack.

We did. 1 haystack + 1 haystack = 1 haystack. Thus, in that case, 1 + 1 = 1.

Bob drinks so slowly he doesn't breath, therefore suffocating himself. Either that or he stupidly drinks into his lungs.

Good job!

Pianistimo, could you explain the peanut butter thing? Or am I just slow?

Here are some more:

1. A man, while on sentry duty, dreams of the time and place of the enemy's upcoming attack. He tells an officer, the army gets prepared, and easily wins the battle. Then the aforementioned sentry is killed. Why?

2. First think of the person who lives in disguise,
who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies.
Next, tell me what's always the last thing to mend,
The middle of middle and end of the end?
And finally give me the sound often heard
During the search for a hard-to-find word.
Now string them together and answer me this,
Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss? (if you've read Harry Potter, don't give the answer.)

3. What can run but never walks,
has a mouth but never talks,
has a head but never weeps,
has a bed but never sleeps?

4. When you say my name,
I no longer exist.

Who am I?

5. A box without hinges, key, or lid,

Yet golden treasure inside is hid

I think that's enough for now...

Here is a nice confusing one ;)

A certain family consists of 1 grandfather, 1 grandmother, 2 fathers, 2 mothers, 4 children, 3 grandchildren, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 1 father-in-law, 1 mother-in-law, and 1 daughter-in-law.  How many people are there altogether?

Heres a really easy one.

You put the two slices of bread into the toaster, and you push down onto the button, until you hear a 'click'. But after 2 hours, nothing happens. Why? (Actually you would look like a fool standing there for 2 hours for two slices of toast, haha.)

Man, I love this thread. Heres one more.

ihatepop was about to print out the sheets to Liszt's La Campenella. He opens up the file, pressed the 'print' button and waited. However, nothing happened. He realised that he had forgotton to turn on the printer, and pushed the on button. However, still nothing happened. He checks the printer and confirmed that there was paper, there was ink in the ink cartridge, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the printer.
Feeling frustrated, he gives up and goes to his friend's house to print. Can you tell whats wrong with his printer, computer, or what so ever?
