A middle aged piano teacher. Many people play better than I do, but many more play worse.

I have a few recordings in the audition room, if you're curious. I saw your post and thought the Sinfonia would be a good project for the month, not a "monster"  .  Besides, I've never studied one before... 

It's time that I did. The monster(s) will come later in the summer...

I want a duel, but I don't know what I want to play. Also, it can't be too strenuous because I'm retraining after an injury. Maybe Mozart K330? Bach P&F in E-flat minor/D-sharp minor? Those are both pieces my teacher wants me to learn anyways. I've read through them, but I haven't really practiced them, so I guess it would still be fair.

If anyone's interested, I want a lot of time to do it in. Maybe the middle of August?

The duel idea sounds great. Should we compile a list of scheduled duels and challenges that everyone can refer to? If this topic grows too long, it'll be easier to look at that than to scroll through all the posts.

I'm interested in participating, but I probably can't work on a technique-heavy piece outside of what I'm currently practicing...but, if anyone has a piece in mind that isn't going to swallow up too much time, I'm up for it! A Chopin Nocturne/other piece or Debussy sounds good right now, though I'm relatively flexible (as long as I haven't learned it already). Anyone? =)

Wolfi, can we possibly move the date up? The mazurka is not that hard a piece, and after some time practicing it, I feel like the time needed to shape it is significantly less than an entire summer.

wild jagd it is with dnephi.  wild hunt - piano street lingo.  just printing it out. hope the black printer cartridge doesn't mess up.  looks like another piece of church music for rondes les sylphes.

what?  yours, mine, and his?  i'll admit - that story was appalling.  i thought it was just a wild hunt.  you know -somebody going hunting with their doggie.  now, i read about headless black rider - women with nails stuck into them - or their nails stuck into the saddle - people ridden over.
