I don't understand why a simple request for applicants to attend a piano camp generated 148 posts (so far), most of them critical or sarcastic.

The problem, if indeed there is one, results from someone who's first posts on this forum were adverts.

I personally think that it is good form to get to know people first.

This thread has probably exhausted its educationl/amusement value.

Here, here.

If you look at all the posts by Mr. Barniv, there are a few that answer other peoples questions, but most are just advertising.

And, once challenged about this, he became very rude and obnoxious, and continued to do so.

If I were you I wouldn't talk about being "very rude and obnoxious", as this is exactly what you and your friends here are.

If you bothered actually participating on this forum, rather than just advertising on it, you would realise that I have no friends.  :'(

I don't understand why a simple request for applicants to attend a piano camp generated 148 posts (so far), most of them critical or sarcastic.  I started reading this topic at the end and then went back to the beginning to see what the problem was and I just don't see it.  The initial post was straightforward and yet within one or two responses the sarcasm began.  There must be some personal issues going on here that the casual reader of the Forum would not be aware of....
James.

Thank you James for your sane voice here.
I am on 10 different Internet piano lists, some of which I've been on for many years; and I am on 3 different Internet piano forums. No other place was I attacked like here. These attackers must be very frastrated pianists/teachers/musicians.
Thank you again and also thanks to the few other sane voices which emerge here occasionally.
Best wishes,
Rami

It seems strange to me that the only time you have something to say is when you're selling your camp.

If you're so great at playing, as you've previously stated many times, why don't you post in threads that may actually help someone else rather than yourself?

I suppose that you only help people if they are willing to pay for your camp camp.

I did, I do and I will, as I see fit and also time permitting.

No, it is not the only time.

I suggest that you look at all your own posts and count the ones that are not advertising. You will not run out of fingers.  ;D

I did, I do and I will, as I see fit and also time permitting.

Don't waste your time putting people down then. Be constructive with your posts.  :o

Perhaps. I don't know. But I bet they had to read all your blurb while receiving it.  ::)

I do not count my posts, but thank you for admitting that what you said previously: "the only time you have something to say is when you're selling your camp" was wrong. It wasn't and isn't the only time.

I an constructive with my posts and I do not put down people, unless they insist on such manner of exchange, like you and some others did.

Yes, I admit that I was wrong. I did find 1.

Yes, constructive advertising, and you do get quite nasty if someone questions you, or does not agree with you.

You have certainly made up for it now though.

Are you suggesting that he's proud. He won't like that. You won't here the end of it now. At least he can start being rude to you now, instead of someone else.

Surely there must be many pupils that are better pianists than their teachers,  (me not included).

Do not see why it should hinder the learning process.

I must have missed this post, it was the day I was traveling.
1) Of course I am a better pianist than everyone else at the camp, I am the teacher/master.
2) Suppose there's someone like that on PS and this someone comes to camp, I have no problem teaching someone who can play better than me. Being able to play better is not necessarily what one needs to be able to teach.
While on the subject, I'm happy to report that the June RRPC was yet another sound success.
Here are a few pictures:
https://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=brdhwer.74eicygv&x=0&y=9d5ski

RRPC upcoming and future dates in Utica, NY:
1) October 21-28 2007.
2) May 18-25, 2008.

RRPC is branching out...
In the 2nd half of September 2007, while on concert tour of New Zealand, I'll be doing camp in Rotorua.
Best regards,
Rami

...are there any audio/video of select performances? I'd love to listen! I saw a clarinet...any Brahms Clarinet Sonata being performed during that week?

Your question prompted me to upload some stuff. Thank you.
Not yet the video, but there's some audio to listen to.
Not Brahms clarinet sonata, but Bar-Niv "Longing for my father" - 7 songs without words for clarinet and piano.
