monkey
you say I quote:
======================
'Everyone who can once in a while afford to go to a restaurant, to go to a concert or theatre or football match, who can afford to have a mobile phone or cable TV HAS ENOUGH MONEY TO ONCE IN A WHILE AFFORD A TEACHER. Period. '
======================
[a period is something a women has once a month]
Wake up to reality maybe most people in your Country can afford to eat out in a restaurant once in a while or go to a so called 'football' match [you don't even use your feet try soccer] but I imagine that there are people in your Country and certainly in the Western World who can not afford to eat out or go to sporting events [sporting events used to be cheap but these days the price is a lot]
Monkey Boy - you are excluding a large percentage of the World Population who do not have basic telephones and have never seen cable. I have had the great pleasure of working with people from India who had to agree to call home from the UK at a certain exact time as their parents had agreed with the only family on their street who could afford telephone so they could go to their house to answer the phone and speak to their son. Publishing on the Web means WORLD WIDE web not Rich Countries only - and before you harp on about they can not afford to get on the Web - many poor countries have governmnet institutions and libraries where very poor people can get info from the Internet!!!
Do you think great pioneers [poor Black Americans from YOUR Country] of early Jazz, Blues, Boogie Woogie, Rag such as Pinetop, Albert Ammons, Jimmy Yancey, Meade Lux Lewis, and Pete Johnson, Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller could affor d to eat out when they learnt piano? No they were more worried about wher the next meal was coming from not where they can afford to eat it!!! -these people passed on their tricks and tips etc in the sleazy bars, brothels of towns such as Chicago - are you disregarding a whole genre Jazz etc... as rubbish [playing by numbers] - playing direct from a music score is more like playing by numbers !! [not that there is anything wrong with music scores they are one of the many mediums by which Composers through the years have passed on their music tips and tricks. 'A tril'l this is a trick used in many of what you call 'SERIOUS' compositions [I think you mean classical when you say serious] Fantasie impromptu are these runs tricks - call it want you want scale, arpegio, trick, run - it is just a series of notes!!!
I suggest you go to Africa [Sudan or somewhere and teach the locals how to play piano - your life will be so much more meaningfull and worthwhile!] you could bring joy to thousands who do not enjoy your lifestyle - and they wont give a MONKEYS monkey boy how you dress it all up!!
