DG knows that both youth and sex sell. They really don't care so much about talent, obviously (but I won't go into that in this thread).

Yes, that's very true.  When listening to music, I'm quite good at picking up wrong notes and technical points.  However, I find it a lot more difficult to distinguish pianists who have mastered all that.  I'll probably not have the musicality to do that even after another 10 years of study.

On the other hand, my male instinct quickly tells me that Alice Sara Ott is attractive.  Is that why I have bought 2 of her CDs?

I think Lisitsa has a very typical Russian/Ukrainian appearance, which can appear quite exotic.

Maybe so, I think she looks more Latvian or Finnish perhaps. Ukranian women are darker in general.

Perhaps you could, although on quite what grounds and using quite what parameters you or anyone else might attempt to do this is less clear than mud; it's also rather difficult to play the piano when in bed (or so I'm told), so even the motivation to do such a thing is equally unclear.

if only she were shopped, then she'd at least have a good excuse, unfortunately that's not a release photo with touch up normally seen it's from the universe pageant itself (aka the malnourishment promenade)...all of those girls at that level are ultra underfed, pretty, but in dire need of a few peanut butter sandwiches.

Of course he is. Richard Clayderman is as much a pianist is Olga Stenkavich and that Miss Universe 2005 whose recording we have not even heard.  One may not like Clayderman's music, but he actually got accepted into the Paris Conservatory at the age of 12.

I saw on Youtube that you can hire Lola Astanova and Valery Gergiev for a concert for $1million and you get to keep the Steinway grand she performed on.  

This is obviously aimed at Russian oligarchs.  Looking at the promotion photos one cannot but wonder what if any freebies come with the deal.

Wow!  Thanks for posting that.  That was highly entertaining and very well done!  I liked the eye candy in the background (Violinist).  I thoroughly enjoyed that, but I have to say that pic of her in that gold dress and that position she is doing looks cheap and not attractive! Not a good use of a piano for a prop in this instance.  Maybe a stripper pole would have been better.
Other than that -- awesome video!
By the way, I listened to that Gottschalk piece on youtube and it is beautiful.  I used to shop at a department store in Silverdale, WA called Gottschalk's.  Any relation?  HA!

I love it!  Just watched it again!  Some company should pick this up for use to sell its product.  This is the type of music and entertainment that everyone loves!
