Nope.  Reddit.  Apparently it's a dog thing.  Some dogs do that.  Looks funny and depends how you interpret the dog's look.  He's probably actually trying to please the owner I would think.

I though real cat toes at first, but I think those might be second paws growing out.  I didn't look any more than that.  So technically, no toes.

Nope,they are real toes. One of mine had extra toes. Since he had proper thumbs, I taught him how to hold a pen...after learning to write, there's nothing stopping the cats to take over the rest of the world! (As they already took over the internet...)

In fact I have given a few piano lessons to both cats and dogs recently (the owners find that very entertaining). The limited span and lack of finger independence really does present a problem for both. But cats have a much more flexible general posture than dogs, it's really difficult for dogs even to sit and play both hands. Dogs also have these hard nails that do not retract. So I'd say the changes of finding a cat virtuoso are much higher. I wonder if they would do better starting with a small keyed toy piano than a real one though...
