susan, susan?  am i cloned now?
Not at all - or at least not by me, anyway; Susan subject and Susan object in the same sentence for the reasons that should be obvious from the sense of that sentence (and I use the terms subject and object in the purely grammatical sense here, since I would never refer to you as any kind of object in any other sense, as I assume you would realise).

james the VI.  hmm. have to look into that.  after my soap opera.  these things help me externalize emotion.  *wonders what he looked like with bagpipes hanging from his mouth.
Soap opera? I thought you didn't usually watch such things. In case you weren't entirely sure if I read your posts, I distinctly recall your writing "i got sidetracked yesterday with  a soapopera.  i NEVEr watch soapoperas.  i think something is going wrong with me." I cannot imagine how a soap opera would help anyone, including you, to "externalise emotion", especially if it is not being watched. And to save your fertile imagination working even more overtime than usual, let me assure you that you need not trouble yourself to wonder how I might look with bagpipes hanging from my mouth , for I do not possess any bagpipes and cannot in any case play them or any other wind instrument.

Best,

today it was the spanish channel soaps.  i can't understand many words - but am impressed at how they are so obviously putting it on.  i actually want to star in a soap opera.  a spanish one.  ok. the first thing i noticed is that they pick wigs for their hairstyles - so obviously right away one feels as though they are watching an opera.  there's the diva and then there's the person with bandages around the head - laid up in a hospital bed.  the emotion comes in when the diva visits.  i cried when she cried.  it felt so good to cry over someone that had a headbandage with no blood on any part of it - and the person who was in the hospital bed looked actually healthier than the other lady.  i would have liked - for a brief moment to just see what they would look like switching spots.  no matter.  there's always a cute latin looking guy in these shows too - but i became bored and fell asleep.  then, i had to dash off to catch my first-graders coming home bus.

'star in your own soap opera.'  that's my new motto

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." - William Shakespeare, from Hamlet, Act 2 Scene 2

This is brilliant.  Lately my life has been really bad, but I've discovered that if I just don't think about it, then it's not so bad.  It's like a magical coping skill--not thinking.   I hope I don't become stupid from this, though, that's the only worry.

Time is too long for life,
For knowledge, not enough.

(The first line of a poem by Rosario Castellanos)

This line (the entire poem) has followed me my entire life.  When I was a moody teenager, I took it the pessimistic way and figured, what was the point of anything?

Thankfully, I've grown up quite a bit since then, and now it's taken on a new meaning: life is short, live it fully, and you'll never stop learning - in fact, you can never learn too much.

At the time my motto would be a piece: Scherzo no 2 by Chopin.

Just sayin', really.  I kind of mostly just needed a place to express my expert opinion.

I'm sorry, I'm off topic since I don't have any motto to present, but really, this is really a stupid quote.   I'm wondering if there are other effects than annoy vegetarians on the one hand, and gain some sort of feeling of cleverness by stating this quote.   No frankly, wow, "by how it tastes";  sounds a little bit silly.
And actually, this word "foodie", it smells.

Kindly.

Somehow I missed this when it was posted, or else I read it and was just so consumed at that time in my life about some things.  But, I indeed appreciate this very much :).
