What's on my mind now?    Disappearing posters.  They show up and ask  for recommendations about how to improve their audition posting, or how to finger a passage or something else musically  related.
SOOO, you take the time to reply....,and the disappearing act.

I wouldn't mind even receiving a message that says  'Thanks' or 'thanks, but  I think you're full of hot air ' but not to acknowledge at all??

This happen enough  where I am reconsidering providing any input on anything musical  to anyone who has not been around for a while .

It's still good... if it only fell on the fell once and I rinse it off... It's still ok to eat.  ...Probably.

My dad cut his pinky off like a week and a half ago and today we just found out that his body accepted the reattachment.

Dude I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NERVOUS FOR HIM!!!

It's not even my hand but I felt his pain as if it was my own dude!

So now he has movement in it and all he's gotta do is go through therapy and he'll be gucci 8)

I do that sometimes. I may not respond back because I still haven't reached a conclusion on my own yet. Awhile back I made a thread about improving "piano memory" and I'm still trying out the suggested methods to see which one works best for me. It is also worth to note that other people besides OP may have the same questions and might end up finding your advice useful!

Do you suppose after so many years, there might be a potbellied, balding Superman?  Maybe he doesn't fly so well and occasionally runs into things?

Yeah I just gotta figure out how to move it. I haven't picked it up yet but I hope it won't be too heavy.

Is two people enough to move an upright?  I'm literally thinking my brother and I can just pick it up from both ends and load it on to the truck.

Maybe.  I thought more like 3-4 people.  They have special lifting straps for that type of move, specific piano ones too I believe.  Weight on the shoulders.  Lift with the legs.

Yep.... If this is true, it's what I was thinking.  Small uprights can be 300-400 pounds.
https://www.learntomove.com/piano-moving-basics.php

And in stairs and turns.  Maybe lifting that thing upward into a truck?

Most pianos I've seen being given away are because in part of this moving part.  How do you move 400 pounds out of your house?  One way is to give it away and then the person who claims it has to move it.

Watch your fingers too for getting stressed with all that weight.

I remember trying to pick up some piano at some point, just to lift the end.  Whatever effort I put into it wasn't enough.  It was like a solid, immovable force.

Or... Just pay piano movers to move it.  Save your back and all that.

Maybe check where you're moving it to too, if the flooring can support that kind of weight.  Cheap wood construction might have issues.

Chopin's Op. 23 ballade is definitely the most enchanting piece I've learned from him. Hearing and going "wow!" is one thing, playing it is another. Once I tackle the 4th ballade I'll be able to die a happy man. Screw marriage, children, high salary paying job...THIS is the pinnacle of life. At least for me that is...!

It's a small upright so 300-400 pounds doesn't sound that bad.  I think it would only take to move it out of their house and on to the truck and 3-4 for moving it in the apartment cause it's up a flight of 5 stairs.  And for flooring I'll just have a bunch of my friends stand on the same spot on the floor to see if it gives lol

That time I got shot.  Or thought I got shot.  Which was last night.  I woke up and felt some sticky substance on my side.  That's really odd.  I was awake enough to know I wasn't dreaming.  Dim light showed it was dark.... like blood.  But no pain.  Maybe there was a post 4th of July celebration going on.  I dipped my fingers on it.  The stuff was really dark, darker than blood red even, sticky, and gooey.  Then I gave it a sniff test.

My playing, why whole "take" on any physical possibly, is too German (/"Russian?").  That means to heavy, possibly too controlled, although light still needs control.  I first noticed it a decade ago but I can still see it.  It's even in the use of my body in general, in my walk.

And then (semi-related) music that goes by faster than I can read/control it.  I understand it, can hear it, but actually playing it or physically keeping up with it... I'm like 20% too slow.

So I calculated its gonna cost me like 130 for everything to move the piano.

I'm just worried about how it's gonna hold up in the tuck.

Yeah I can strap it so it doesn't move but if it's a bumpy ride won't that ruin the inside of the piano?

Yep.  It's got to be tuned a few times after it adjusts to its new environment.  Any moving around is going to stress the strings a little bit.  And then when it gets to its new humidity/temperature environment is will adjust to that, all the wood and strings, etc.  Probably just move it, let it sit for a week, get it tuned, let it adjust for a month, and then get it tuned again.  Another $200+ there for the tuning.  And then you'll get to see how well it holds its tuning.  Ask the tech/tuner the first time they're out.  If it's free... It might have issues and be a money pit.  I'd guess someone just want someone else (you) to haul it away though.  They just saved themselves $100+ by having you haul it away.  Although potentially they'll still be worrying about you injuring yourself and suing them.  (That's another way to get money for a piano I suppose...)

And then in the future... For wherever you're moving to, you might have to move it out again.

It would be wise to add any sound proofing or padding to it while you've got someone there before it's set down for a more permanent spot in the new place.

Exercise.  Pushing strength.  I've lost the spring in my step a bit.  It feels like more like a gravity-weighted, heavy, Terminator foot step.  If I jumped, it would be something like a single inch off the ground.

I'm too German, not enough French and something else.

Not enough lightness.

Probably making something that's a quick, multi-movement and making it a strong smaller-piece segmented motion.  But in breaking it down to that level, I lose the ability to do the whole, quick, light motion.

After 5 months, my knees finally are finally clearing up from patellar tendonitis!! :D  Cause – walking 30 miles a week on slanted sole tennis shoes that were over worn.  Lesson:  use flat sole shoes with thin flexible soles and replace them often.  Don’t be such a cheapskate.  Now I can get my blood pressure under control with a good sweat!!  Thank goodness for internet research.  Live and learn as they say.

Neeeeuuuuoooo!!!!  >:(

I just made tuna.  I'm tuna-plentiful but I just discovered I'm out of crackers.

I have to make do with bread instead of crackers.... :-[

I looked but didn't see crackers.  I might actually have crackers if I looked more.  If I but crackers, I'm sure I'll find another box around here somewhere.

And my left ctrl button is having issues....

I could have sworn I did actually have a spare box of crackers.... I bought a box and discovered I already had them.....  How the heck did I eat two whole boxes of crackers that quick....?

Slanted, thick soled tennis shoes should come with warning labels:  “These thick, slanted soles may cause patellar tendonitis.  Replace these shoes often to reduce this risk.  Better yet, don’t buy these shoes if you plan on walking or running more than 10 miles a week.”

The problem is there is absolutely no pain or discomfort to the tendons as they are being damaged.  It is only after substantial damage is done that you notice symptoms.   It takes months of therapy to heel and this assumes you know that the shoes are causing the damage so you stop wearing them in addition to doing therapy.

That's the trick maybe....

It's difficult to grow new muscles.  I haven't figured that out yet.

If you push for strength, there probably *must* be enough recovery time.  It seems necessary for muscles to tighten/toughen up a bit.  But that's not the state I want them in ideally either.  So then they would need to be stretched and relaxed, without losing the new strength.

Fatigue.  How to get more energy.

Spending two days instead of one essentially sleeping all the time to recover and get more energy.  One day worked before, but two now?  In the long term I'm not sure I like the direction that's going in.

And things always taking longer than I expected, although they can/will if I let them.  Projects take as much time as you're willing to give them.

Especially with that cleavage? ;)

They cut it so that she appear more like a pop star than a serious musician and her laugh does enhance that effect...it may or may not be an image that she herself wants to present as a career move to seem more approachable to younger and more general audiences.

For me, what is irritating is the laugh after every answer when some are not really funny.  It seems like she goes out of her way to play the 'dumb blonde' musician rather than someone with obvious brains

You do know it's edited, right? The questions weren't presented to her as they were in the video, they were most likely having a conversation. Camera guy might've been her type too. ;3

EVERYONE Would hate me

I'd be cussing in all my interviews talk about my political views personal life stories women sports and advertise my concerts with underwear pics.

Classical musicians are boring her and Lang Lang are the only ones with personality

I don't blame classical musicians tho, what can they really do? It's not a subculture with the flexibility to allow in showbizness and stuff. Even the "eccentric" like Lang Lang aren't that much different from normal musicians during a performance.

What I do want is for Yuja Wang's fashion sense to catch on like a virus all over the classical world. We need more thighs and cleavage on stage.

I don't blame classical musicians tho, what can they really do? It's not a subculture with the flexibility to allow in showbizness and stuff. Even the "eccentric" like Lang Lang aren't that much different from normal musicians during a performance.

You know if Lang Lang wanted to he could do whatever he wants in a performance and get away with it
