The Talk Classical website hasn't worked for a few days and I am wondering if others here are having any issue with it.

I get a "database error".  If you want to seen a screenshot of the error message then just let me know.

They usually do get these blips from time to time.  No worries.

Prices for the gold membership on here have gone up.  Why, I remember when it used to be $2-3 per month... or maybe per year even!  Heh!

Hi Compline,

Thanks for checking - I did that, too.

That is the name and address of the web domain registration site.  Mine is Melbourne IT, Ltd..  They don't provide information to the public on how to contact the owners of specific domains.

Hi Compline,

There is an issue with the website in which recently registered accounts can not log in - the log in doesn't fetch the information properly as it doesn't seem to be correctly allocated.  And there is no way to contact an administrator at the site about the issue because there isn't a contact page for the site.

It seems that classical music related websites were much better run ten years ago.

Happily I can report that Piano Street works fine day to day and week to week. :)

Yes, I agree  Piano Street is one of the best run Classical music sites that I have come across it is professionally run.
I don't understand why dasdc  use that strange  dude language like it's text messaging and sometimes there is bad language, It's horrid.
I don't intend to be a member there but I have read some of the threads.
I think most members seem quite knowledgeable. Why is it called  Speed Demon Community?

Holy cow... I exercised yesterday... I just dozed off, woke up, and it's like I can feel the muscles tightening up, repairing.  My legs actually woke me up.  It's not soreness.  It doesn't feel good though.

Why no one in online videos every has any "stuff."  Houses look bare.  Could be the same house actually.  Looks nice, but... They don't have any stuff.  At all.  Nothing.

I've got decades of stuff.  Too much.  I have to walk and hop around it.

My practicing has stalled out.

And I'm stuck on something in another area that's partially causing that.  Not directly, but the other area is "supposed" to improve first and then I would focus more on piano....

What it's going to be like when we search (Google?) for something in the future and get results from 20-30 years ago.

I just read a response from four years ago that was mentioning conditions.  Then I took a look at the date of the post.

If it's "take" as in "stolen," then yes.  I took it.

I saw it imgur.  Someone has a family of foxes living in a garden in their backyard area.  That's the mother peering out.

I found out a detail about an animal and its young.  Why not look on YouTube?  So I search for "animalname  mother and young."

Search at your own risk.  I'm expecting Sesame Street results.  This was from a street corner on the other side of town.

I'm getting music-oriented spam again.  This is still pretty weird.  It's like someone is baiting me to reply back.  I filtered all the email accounts to my trash but I still see them coming in.   It appears to be people in music ensemble discussing rehearsals, times, etc.   From the subject lines, one of them has health issues.  That's what it is -- There some event that requires discussion, so it generates a lot of emails.  I think the spammer wants me to reply back out of frustration, a "Take me off the list!" type of reaction they want.

I bought some walnuts a while ago from a certain store.  It's healthy enough.  Those ran out.  I bought some more.  Tried some different kinds of nuts -- hazelnuts, peacans, etc.

When you cut the bag open, the nuts might fall out.  I didn't bother with a twister or anything to close the bags.  Just spin them and put them back in the original grocery bag I got them in just in case any spilled out.

So a moment ago I cut open a new bag, carefully spun it around but it would probably open and the nuts could spill out.

What thought crosses my mind?  "That's going to spill.  The bag will come undone.  I'll keep them in the original grocery bag since it looks different.  it's easy to tell it apart and I'll know the nuts are in there, potentially spilled out of the original bags.  That's like the special bag for nuts.  That's my... nutsack?"  ::)  And then what I just thought sunk in.

It is my nut bag though.  I'm still not messing with twisters.  But the original bags will still spill, and I've got this distinctive bag here...

https://www.theonion.com/article/avoiding-popular-songs-somehow-accomplishment-for--38338

OAKLAND, CA—Speaking with evident pride as he mentioned how he doesn’t listen to the radio, local man Dan Mills appeared to be under the impression that his avoidance of mainstream music was somehow a noteworthy accomplishment, sources confirmed Tuesday. “‘Chandelier’? I’ve never heard of it,” said Mills, brimming with satisfaction over his success at evading a song that has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for almost a year. “Sia sings it? Which one is she again?” At press time, Mills was loudly stating that he had never seen Avatar and probably never would.

I'm surprised.  I cut out carbs.  Just protein and vegetables and fruit.  Then I saw Thal's post.  So I ate some carbs -- red potatoes.  Plenty of them.  I think I've actually lost a little weight.

... and you can always go into more detail.  So there's essentially no end except for whatever idea of an end/level of detail/standard you have in mind for whatever reason.

They should make an 80's movie.  No CGI, etc.  Maybe something with a better plot though.  But still the tacky digital piano/music.

Not enough recovery time.  Pushing thing a little too much for a little too long, and having that become the standard.

I've tried backing way off on practicing, getting more rest, and do (for me, extremely) careful, thoughtful practicing.  Relaxed, with ease.  I got better results.

Key point being less practice and more rest.  "Better" results though.... There's still a dip in performance but it seems like I've captured something.  Whatever the edge was for playing is now more solid.

"What's on your mind now"

Im gonna play piano at a gospel concert at sunday. I hate it. The choir have given me sheets but says its better to watch some youtubelinks, so I concentrated on the Yt links and skipped the sheets (people cant read scores anyway) . At yesterdays rehearsal they said, Ohh, you play it in THAT version! We sings it more like the score. -But not that bar, and not that bar, but That!  And slower and here we goes faster...OMG! Help me! Wish me good luck! No rehearsal left..What would you do? Pray for me!  ???
