This may sound dumb... but is that a shot of whiskey being dunked into a Beer??? That sounds kind of awful... Good whiskey should never be mixed (as you mentioned)... I don't even think the piss poor whiskey should even be mixed except with Coca-cola.

Ever tried it? Great taste...and the effects are not quite as heavy as with a pint of pure whiskey, so you can have more

I agree. I like a good beer, and I like a good scotch, but I see no reason to spoil either by combining them. Rather like fish and chocolate.

Anyway...I grew up in times when alcohol cost a fortune in this country and a tiny glass of any decent whiskey in a restaurant was probably more than a whole bottle where you are...so this was a perfect way to enjoy the cheapest Scotch they had...and much more to my taste than any sweet drinks
