Silver Garburg Piano Duo & Artis Quartett:
Grosse Fuge



Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg have now been successful as the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo for more than 20 years. Joined by the Artis Quartet, they present Beethoven's Great Fugue, Schubert's Sonata in B flat major D 617 in a version for piano duo and string quartet, and the work “Synopsis for piano four hands and string quartet I & II”, written for the ensemble by Austrian composer Richard Dünser.

Mariam Batsashvili:
Influences



This album shows how four composers expressed themselves through the sonata form; it begins with Haydn’s Sonata No.37, in three-movement Classical Viennese style, and ends with Liszt’s one-movement “Dante” Sonata. Between them are Mozart’s last sonata, K.576, and Beethoven’s Appassionata, “completely revolutionary in the way he used the entirety of the keyboard,” says Batsashvili.
