Federico Colli has always had a special relationship with Mozart – he was inspired to study music by the discovery of Mozart’s music at the age of around six. Later, he won the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. This is his second album entirely dedicated to the composer, featuring the famous Variations on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, as well as Mozart's most famous Piano Sonata, KV 331 ("Alla Turca").

Its theme is pianistic counterpoint, and the possibilities of polyphony at the piano, which Godowsky stretched to the outermost reaches. The programme focuses on transcriptions and paraphrases, with the addition of Godowsky’s Prelude and Fugue on the Theme B-A-C-H.

Well aware of the history of music and her own position in that history, Nadia Boulanger immediately recognized the extraordinary talents of her younger sister Lili. Both sisters were to become extremely influential for the classical music scene of the twentieth century. Lili was the first female composer to win the Prix de Rome and Nadia became the most sought-after music pedagogue in the world.
