Great picture, Torp.  You know, something that I appreciate about this is all of the protective clothing you are wearing.  I suppose it's the accountant in you....  you want to be there for your family.  Sure looks like a beautiful place to be riding.

Thanks.  Actually, I think it's the "I don't want to be a stain on road should I crash" part of me.  ;D

It was definitely a beautiful place to ride, though I had to be ever watchful for venison-on-the-hoof.  Running into bambi at high speed can prove detrimental to one's health.  On another note, I came around a corner on a ride this past Sunday and came face to face with a young brown bear.  S/he looked at me and decided I was too intimidating (yeah right) so ran away.  I sped off before mom could come and reassess the threat level.  I've never seen a bear while out riding so it was pretty cool.

interesting that you ride out in the 'open range.'  pennsylvania is like that.  we almost hit a deer the other night, too, in our van.  thankfully i had just opened my eyes (was resting them) and saw farther than my husband and told him 'stop.'  being the good husband he is , he lurched to a stop.  we missed the deer barely.  they do come out of the blue.

Well, I simply must comment !  *Sorry picture-people*  :-[

There was a time in my life when I dreamt about bears just about every night for a year and a half.  Then, finally, on a trip involving hiking, I encountered one as I was on foot.  It was a big brown bear, and I ended up doing exactly the wrong  thing.... LOL.  I had actually come upon it as it was cracking open a fallen tree looking for insects and critters.  It did not even see me, I saw it.  So, I turned around and ran as fast as I could ... EXACTLY THE WRONG THING TO DO.  Then, I began letting it know I was there "I'm here, bear, I'm here".  After a little bit I continued back and there was not a trace.  I never even heard it leave (I was convinced it was following me).   Anyway, bears are meaningful to me.  I don't necessarily know what to think about the significance of animals that we encounter or dream about, but, imo it's pretty great that you came across one.

yeah.  me, too.  animals that are 'dangerous' can also be really amazing.  it's just that you want to keep a certain distance.  appreciated what you said, mayla, because you have a lot of bravery to 'go back and look.'

i've had similar experiences blueberry picking (but i didn't go back and look).  we (two girls that i was babysitting and myself) were happily picking berries at a park (with other people in proximity - but not a lot of people) and i smell this really disgusting smell.  then, it hit me,  it could be a bear!  so, i tell the girls, ok girls (stand up and start backing up).  they thought i was a little strange, but they did what i said.  i knew if i screamed 'bear' - the bear might attack.  so we walked backwards faster than slowand then turned around and ran.

one time i had a very bad feeling that a mountain lion was at a picnic location in northern california.  my young son (about 3) and i had gotten out of the car at a semi-deserted picnic area and i was about to set the lunch out.  i just had a wierd feeling.  like something was lurking around.  hurridly i got back in the car with my son and probably left the lunch on the table.  bears and other wild animals are probably after your lunch (especially if it is mcdonalds).

also, another time, i took my son to summer camp and rented a motorhome to get there.  (sequoia national forest) the counselor advised us to throw out burger wrappers and remains before camping for the night.  well, in the motorhome, i forgot that we had eaten earlier that day at wendy's.  so what do we get around 11 pm.  this up and down motion at the back of the motorhome.  i thought one of the counselors was trying to scare us, so we dutifully screamed and sort of laughed.  then, i realized in was getting violent.  i was about to drive away with the hookups still attached, but decided to pray with the kids instead.  thankfully, the bear did go away.

that was the same trip that i experienced having breaks go out going downhill.  i was whizzing around corners on the way back from this summer camp with my son and a cousin of the family and my second daughter about age 2.  then i remembered to put the thing in second gear and then first gear.  it worked.  (we had rented the motorhome)  always check the brakes before you go on vacation!!!!!

pocorina isnt a model, just a very sexy former member of this forum ;)

i think wed all like to see her back, eh? ;)

if she claimed to have tuberculosis then no, she's got some weird insecurity problem or something.

her photos look very model-like, the lighting, the pose etc etc

anyway the point i was making is ur not liking her for her personality or intellect so why not just look at some random model?
I wish i was what i was when i wanted to be who i am now.

ok took some time to find the thread, but bernhard explained how to post a pic for those that don't know how.

1.   Write score in a notation software (Sibelius, Finale, etc. I use “Personal Composer”).
2.   Copy and paste into a “Paint” document as a JPEG file.
3.   Transfer the file to a “picture host” website (Tinypicture.com and Photobucket .com are free)
4.   Copy the URL onto your post like so: [img*]https://URL[/img].

(get rid of the *. I put it there so it would not convert it into image)

That is how I do it. Maybe there are simpler ways.

Best wishes,
Bernhard.

enjoy
