Let us say I will be eating the same as above and I don't need to buy from Tescos.

What would you recommend?

But, unless I've missed something, all that you've specified above is a "Sunday roast", which could involve any one of a variety of different red and white meats that might respectively go better with red, rosé or white wines - or even (though unlikely in your case, I imagine) a vegetarian roast; I'd need more details of that as well as some idea of your wine style preferences to be able to make any meaningful and helpful suggestions. That you are no longer restricting yourself to Tesco's stock does, however, widen the brief usefully.

I am eating a box of salad bar stuff, which includes within it (well, some of it is already in my stomach) some tempeh, a little bit of roasted chicken, a little bit of cottage cheese and feta cheese, a few artichoke hearts, a few slices of kiwi, a few strawberries, a couple of other berries, a tiny bit of grilled vegetables, and two different kinds of lentils.  It's kind of like an antipasto, which is one of my favorite types of eating ... mmm.  In a couple of hours, I'm going to be bringing it with kempo (which, btw, makes me feel like I could actually beat somebody up if I needed*slash*wanted to)!

Too easily and readily, it would seem - still, that's your prerogative and saves me some trouble, I suppose; all that you had to do was tell me what you proposed to have for lunch next Sunday and I'd try to give you some wine recommendations to accompany it. Never mind.

What I am not eating is marmite. Supplies of marmite in New Zealand are running out because the factory will close for a few months due to earthquake damage. I like marmite myself but I find the current crisis mentality here really silly. It just isn't that important is it ? Surely to goodness we can use a close substitute or simply go without for a few weeks ? The term "Marmageddon" is appearing in the newspapers here and pots of marmite are selling on the internet for $100. With all the real issues we have here, isn't it a bit trivial ?

I sometimes feel I am living in a world of loonies.

Certainly not, it won't worry me, and Vegemite is still available. But you might be able to make a few dollars out of some silly Kiwis desperate enough to buy it online.

Finishing off a jar of Nutella.  A whole jar in less than 24 hours.  Mmm.... Es ist sehr gut auch.

Ingredients are in Swedish or something I think.... So my body may not be able to take in the calories if those calories are in a foreign language.

And it's sticky like peanut butter. I've never had Nutella before.  *Bob wonders if he'll be among those who choke to death to Nutella.* :o

*Bob wants some marmite now.*

"Product Description
The Aussie essential. Vegemite is a salty spread with distinct taste acclaimed by Australians everywhere. Americans please use in moderation."

What do they think we're going do?  Eat a... whole jar of it at once?  ::) *burp*

I still don't understand the point of Nutella, what it's for, what it's supposed to go on.  It tastes like frosting but good frosting, not too sweet.  Like frosting chocolate.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegemite
"U.S. President Barack Obama, in response to a question in March 2011 during a joint visit with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard to a high school in Virginia, gave his impression of Vegemite by stating "It’s horrible" and, following a description by Ms. Gillard, summarised it with "So it's like a quasi-vegetable by-product paste that you smear on your toast for breakfast - sounds good, doesn't it?".[43]"

Four ! Good grief, be careful, we don't want you ending up like Waller. He used to order twenty hamburgers for lunch; ate and drank himself to death, poor man.

The salmon was indeed delicious though; my wife is an amazing cook. She has an uncanny ability to taste something somewhere and duplicate it without a recipe later on at home.

good stuff Ted, being an asian I ate more than average Westerner. My boss always walked in and saying wooh meals for 3 man. in big mac wise, for lunch I can have 4 big macs plus chips and large orange juice. I think I got the defect genes from my dad. Because, My daughter does the same, but she is not fat but big. ;)

That looks and reads deliciously, Ted.

Agh... I'm so hungry that when I went to the market just now to get TP and my eyes fell upon the raw red meat sitting in their cooler bin, I instinctively wanted to devour it and thought it looked delicious as is.  That's actually true.  It's similar to if I get so tired that I get in bed without caring if there's a spider in it.

no worries, if i drink a single one of these in 2-4 weeks it's a lot, sometimes none at all, i just felt like having a fizzy, i'll take a bit of the poisonous sweetner over the hit of sugar/insluin to my abs lol ;D
as for being health conscious yeah to a point but also i try to take stock of what makes life more enjoyabe vs miserable and longer. and with somethings, i'd rather meh not live an extra 2.5875 years if whatever i indulge that shortened my life by said much made them that much worth living. but it's benign, some coffee, some soda, some whatever...

on the TP, yeah i thought so too, but i've never gone to the grocery store hungry and only thought about what i must buy to make sure i can poop when i need to oh well ::)

You seem to eat in installments. :)  What you need is a "golden" chef to serve up some magic for you once in awhile for your ivory nights.  Not only will you enjoy a gourmet dinner, but candles and atmosphere too!  Right now the menu has a few things to choose from, but we'll be adding more dishes in the future!

Hi m1469!  I'm looking forward to cooking a rainbow trout fillet for myself later this afternoon.  Yesterday, I made a pie with strawberries, raspberries, and red globe grapes.  One of my friends has a son who is a chef in a D.C. restaurant, who has tried my pies and complimented them.  I do need to go shopping for more milk and fruit juices, though.  Glad you've been online.

Wow, that all sounds delicious.  I *love* (super fresh) fish and berries and pie!  I've never heard of grapes in a pie, but I know there are pies with raisins in it, so I guess it's not that strange.  I think that strawberry pie is probably my favorite pie in the world.  I mean plain strawberry with an amazing crust and some freshly whipped, real cream (not cool whip).  Oh man.  But, I like loads of pies ...

I once made a frozen, raw, vegan pie that only had 5 ingredients but was pretty good, actually.  It's primary berry were strawberries, and then some blueberries, too.  I bet raspberries would be *amazing* in pie.  The recipe calls for almonds, strawberries, blueberries, dates, and agave.  I used prunes instead of dates (b/c they are less expensive and we had them on hand, too), and honey instead of agave (same deal there).  You blend the almonds, prunes, and add honey to make the crust (spread it around in the pie dish to form the crust) and blend the berries with a little honey, too, and throw that in.  Then you freeze it and that's that!

hmmm ... I'm going to eat pie this summer, that's for sure.

Dinner:  A tilapia loin, with the tiniest bit of satueed onions, some chopped asparagus, some mushrooms and fresh spinach, with pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice while cooking, and then some parmesan cheese sprinkled all over it.

I'll tell you what I WISH I were eating though ... hmmm ...

Some oysters; a couple fried with a little batter (or herbs or something), and a couple raw, in the half shell with some spicy cocktail sauce and lemon,

Prawn cocktail

Some kind of unimaginably good ravioli or tortellini ... seriously, some kind of deliciousness about it that I can't even imagine and have never had (I already really like what I've had, but it's never been fresh with supreme ingredients).

Butternut squash soup.

Some kind of green, amazingly fresh and delicate vegetable.  Maybe a salad that I don't know how to make.
