An unemployed man has discovered a rare Charlie Chaplin film among a junk shop job lot.

Brian Hann, 40, found the 35mm nitrate film at the Second Time Around shop in South Shields. The seven-minute footage is part of a first world war propaganda movie titled Zepped which Chaplin filmed in 1917 in an effort to help defuse the terror inspired by Zeppelin bombing raids over London. Last week, what was believed to be the only copy went on sale at Bonhams auction house in London for £100,000.

Dang.... A nice, but also kind of cruel dream.  I drempt a pet who died suddenly/tragically a few years ago reappeared.  So nice to see it again.  And it was happy to see me.  Then I realized it was actually a different pet.  It kind of morphed into the real, still living pet as I realized that in the dream.  The first part was really nice to see it again though.  The cruel part is waking up.  It's one of those dreams that's better than reality.

What if you were more intelligent?  What would you do with it?

What if you were more intelligent?  What would you do with it?

Would you even notice a difference?  How?

In some ways this is both really simple and really complex at the same time.  I think it's not possible to actually possess or obtain more intelligence, but that we can experience greater or an enhanced access to intelligence at various points of our life.  In some ways I'd want to continue doing exactly what I am already doing, but with greater freedom and with a bigger "reach."  I suspect there would be new ideas, too, that I didn't think of before.

For example, I would like to help solve some of the food, water, and climate issues in the world.  And let me set out by saying that I believe these are very connected to humankind's collective consciousness about life, and that I have no intention nor desire of robbing humankind of its necessary growth and development regarding these.  But, let's say with current intelligence I could be capable of going to a foreign country and help plant crops.  Let's say with some increased intelligence I could go to the foreign country and design a new system of planting crops that was never thought of before, and was of greater benefit to the people.  And let's say with a further increased intelligence, I could actually make it rain.  And with more intelligence I could actually just manifest bread in my hand to feed a multitude.  And with greater intelligence still, I could not only manifest bread, but could teach classes on how other people could manifest bread.  And still further intelligence I could just have another person manifest bread and know how they did it.  Etc.

How would you recognize it either way though?  If you were 10% more/less intelligent?  Or 1%?  5%?

Easy:

Less Intelligent + Coffee = More Intelligent.  The coffee is the giveaway.

Very interesting effect....

So I'm outside, riding a bike.  I decided to breath more, just for the heck of it.  If you're moving, it's difficult or impossible to really hyperventilate.  I can tell I'm taking in more air than I need.  Then I start noticing I'm much more aware of everything.  Things in the distance.  Sounds.  Cars.  People.  Like I had more perception of things.  Reminded me of the effect in the Interview with a Vampire movie when the character turns into a vampire.

Time for another scary episode of online tracking....

I think I possibly have a side ad for a product my neighbor purchased.

Neighbor buys something.  It's pretty unique.  I've gotten a few paper mailings for it.  I figured the address got mixed up and I got the ad mailing.  (Which wouldn't quite make sense because it's something you don't buy that often.)

The business name is unique too.

What just popped up in my side ads?  Coincidence?  Maybe.

I guess I'll go with coincidence.  I just happened to recognize the business name.  Then again... Recognize the area... the address... put lots of info together... and throw an ad out to me.

I was reading last night on spacetime and such, and Einstein described gravity as a consequence of the curvature of spacetime.

There's an application there somewhere. :)

If it curved enough, would it break, like if it was pressing down on a sheet of space-time, or would it keep bending around into a circle, as if space-time was a sheet of paper.

Also, the cat sucks.  It's not playing Axel F.

See?  This cat can play Axel F, so it's superior.  Check out that technique.  That cat above isn't doing that.

This cat has the composition down well enough that it almost sounds like the original, but he's made it a little different, a little more his own.  If you try to argue against that, then it means you're not musically sophisticated at all.

Somebody's ripping that talented cat off.   ::)

Look at this.  This guy stole the audio off the cat's youtube video and is trying to pass it off as his own.

He's making an obscene hand gesture too on this CD cover.  He's looking pretty snide.  Like, "Hey, look at me!  I'm trying sell cheap CDs I stole from a cat on the internet!"  That's pretty rude.  We're on to your game Mr. Faltermeyer.  We know what you look like now.

It's probably a loophole in copyright laws.  The cat isn't human, so copyright laws might not apply.  The cat might be producing sounds but it's not "music" so it's not covered by copyright that way.  (Actually I believe the video would be the fixed form which is covered by copyright.)

Hm...  How about this for brain function?

Sensory input.

Filters into whatever the conscious and subconscious get.

You/conscious have attention (measureable).
And a number of thing you can pay attention to at once (working memory/capacity).
If you pay attention to them enough, bring them back into memory, then you have the 'long term memory.'
