I’ve been a member for a little while, but, since I haven’t introduced myself, I’ve felt like a lurker. Hence, hello.
I fell in love with classical music at 15, started studying piano and worked hard to make up for lost time, went to college as a composition major, and quit because of my stupid lack of confidence and inferiority complexes.
I started playing again at 49 when my wife and I inherited a terrible, ancient Wurlitzer console piano that had stood for a few weeks in the flood waters from Hurricane Agnes. (I live in Northeast Pennsylvania.) I finally bought a Yamaha CLP-115, and am pretty happy with it. If I could, I’d get a real piano, but at this point I can’t even afford a teacher, let alone a quality acoustic piano. I'm now 53, and regret it deeply.
Since I don’t have a teacher, I read everything I can about technique, and that’s what brought me to this forum. I don’t know how much help I can be to anyone here, but I’m sure many of you can be of help to me.
Thanks, and, again, hello.
