This seems as good a place as any to say 'hello.' I'm a piano teacher in Ontario, Canada. I'm also going back into lessons, so I can finally get my Grade 10 and ARCT. I've got an in-home studio with a dozen students right now, and I'm learning just how much I really need to learn about piano playing.
My performing repertoire isn't as good as I'd like it to be; mostly Joplin and some easy Chopin (if that isn't a contradiction in terms). But I'm working on it.
One question: I notice that a lot of people talk about the grading system stopping at 8. Here, the grades go to 10 and ARCT. So which grading system stops at 8?
I've been reading this board for a couple of weeks now, and I've learned quite a few things already. For example, don't mention 'Hanon.'

I've started making a list of pieces I want to learn, including everything Chopin did (264 individual pieces or movements). I'm also going to learn Czerny's Sonata in A minor, Op. 15, as well as several standard repertoire pieces (Bach's WTC, Beethoven's Sonatas, the usual).
