Still trying to figure out for how long...would 20 minutes be sufficient? I am not sure if I am advanced enough for a piece with such technical demands

I'm imaging the intensity the conductor would still have to display if it was an ensemble piece.  "You have to *play* the rests."   Then after all that intensity, the arms go down, the audience applauds.

And someone's stupid cell phone is likely to off during that moment.

I don't know.  I think I'd prefer a bigger, more well-known group performing that.  The conductor wasn't quite doing what I pictured.  He's not that intense.

Are all the parts marked tacet?  I would think there's a difference between tacet and having a rest on the page.

Dull as dishwater. The score for the earlier In Futurem by Erwin Schulhof is a work of art, Cage's (cheap copy) effort looks like it was scrawled on a bar coaster after a long session.

Then you have to go through the process of replacing that stupid triangle part that gets lost.  Pay the publisher $2.50 for them to send you a photographed copy with a sticker on it.
