Nor the quite appalling treatment meted out to living vegetables.

Vegetables are less conscious than animals.  I'm pretty sure of that.

Eating live fish... Ugh.   I ran across a video of that this weekend.  Didn't watch it.  If it's a quick kill, ok.  That.... ugh.

Less mobile, usually, but what is consciousness that you can be so sure?

The same can be said about living flowers.  Why would you decapitate a living plant just to satisfy an aesthetic fancy.

IMO scenes like this are disgusting:

Would you chop of your cat's leg and place it in a vase with water to admire it?

You could probably get some kittens to stay in a contain similar to that.  No water.  No cutting involved.  Just have them stand, head up over the top.

I thought it was Domo.

I'm not sure exactly what it is.  Maybe it is a brick.

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=domo-kun

It's quite scary.   ::)  I'm going to have nightmares now.

Actual video, if anyone's interested....

*Bob was thinking the same thing as the youtube commenter....  White rice, carbs, not healthy....*

I thought Domo was some evil character.  This thing look likes like a brown turd kids' character.  Turd with teeth.

*Bob continues watching Domo...*

I cannot stop wondering what evolutionary benefits there are from having a mouth that apparently doesn't close at all... He runs around a lot, so maybe he get part of his nourishment from insects flying into his mouth?

Actually, they're for puncturing already securely held prey, and they only work when the mouth is open.

Well, not sure for this particular one, but with other Felines the upper canines work like scissors together with the lower canines to cut meet.
