If that were true, where in the WORLD did the music come from?  :P

I would like to call them "magic studios." I would never have know about them unless a friend of mine proudly presented me with his first CD. He has some good ideas and sings his original songs from the heart. He went to another friend who has such a studio.

As the "artist" you go in, sing your songs and speak about what kind of feeling, background, etc., you would like. In about two weeks you came back and sing it again. That's it. You never rehearse with the musicians, or even meet them. They exist on memory chips. In some of the better places they have "session players" who come in and sweeten the tracks. You will pay extra for that.

I don't work that way. I want the entire band in the studio at once, each player sound proofed and recorded on a separate track.

Hi Oxy, yes, yes, I can hear her voice is "mixed" or filtered, and all of that.  I know (figured) that the whole thing took place in some way that you mentioned ... that is all one thing.  I'm talking about the actual "musical" ideas, though - subject matter and "melodies," etc..  Didn't she compose it?  I assumed she did and that this was part of the deal about her ... she's a "songwriter" ... I find it difficult to believe that if she were completely manufactured, that at least the music might be a little ... different  :P.

That could be some person with their little laptop filling in loops for the music.  There might not actually be any live people playing anything for the background music.  (If that's what Oxy was eluding too, vs. having recordings of the actual live musicians.)

I found this the other day.  *** Warning:  Swearing! ***

It looks like they're recording in a dorm room.  Mic, keyboard, and computer.  And some people and AutoTune.  And someone with an actual guitar I think.

There must be something with that mic.  Or some computer processing.  I thought you had to have a sound proof room to isolate one audio stream.  Maybe the mic and computer can filter everything else out.  Although I suppose if they're processing the voices it might not matter so much if they chop out some of the actual voice along with the extra noises the mic might pick up.

You must notice I didn't criticize either my friends ideas or hers. Both are speaking from the heart and have are trying to give musical life to their message. They just don't know how to do it. In both cases they need a band, an arranger and someone to sing.

Having been out of work for 6 months, I recently took a part-time job at a fairly low salary and am hoping that somehow I can make it on this.  Facts are staring me in the face, though, and I'm realizing that this is probably a pipe dream.  So thoughts on my mind tonight are:  how long can I afford to keep this job?, can I get more hours at this job?, how soon can I transfer to a full-time position?.  Nothing earth-shaking, but a pretty big deal to me.

I'm pondering the difference between "Real Time" vs. "The Concept of (Real) Time" and having a little bit of an epiphany regarding that as it relates to tempo and rhythm.

Does anyone know how to feed large dogs right? I mean because I read about that thing that can happen to large dogs if they eat too much and then run or something and then something really bad can happen to their stomach that is very dangerous!  :( And I'm just worried everytime because I'm giving some treats to that Music school doggy when I go see him.... does anyone know how much food is too much?  :-\ And if he just runs a little to one side and barks cause he sees a dog is that too much running? How much food does a really large dog eat in a day? And how much in one time so that it isn't too much? anyone knows?

Big dogs eat little dogs, like chihuahuas and miniature toy poodles.  About one small dog a day.  This is why you don't tend to see big dogs around little dogs.  And sometimes the big dogs accidentally inhale a little dog.  It happens.

The rule of thumb for ADULT dogs is feed them as much as they will eat readily. If they back away from the food dish, they've had enough. Remove the dish. Some dogs will try to convince you that they haven't had a meal in days... Don't fall for the that trick.

However in your case a half a "milkbone" a day won't hurt.

A good way to check the weight and condition is to pet the dog's back. If you can't feel the back bone, it's overweight. Most dogs don't get enough exercise because most owners don't have the time.

Thanks for answering Oxy!  :) Well I also give him a few pieces of what I'm eating (like toast and cheese or something like that), but not a lot. And he's not overweight at all, I think he needs a lot of food because he's outside most of the time... and he needs energy and maybe even a little fat to keep him warm I think.

The Piano Mafia's on my mind...  If you criticize them publicly they will find you and force you to play Hanon exercises for hours.  They will pin a note on you that states, "'"This happened to me for not understanding that I shouldn't report on the social networks."

There's your answer.  If the big dogs eat enough little dogs, they aren't hungry anymore.  You're just seeing big dogs that ate enough so they don't go after the littles ones anymore.

I haven't noticed any Google or Youtube problems.

DNS problems. For some reason we seem to get more "can't find..." messages in Europe. DNS (domain name server) problems come and go. They affect everybody equally. At this moment I'm on the back end of a 4G Vodafone connection and sometimes when I want to see Vodafone's own home page the DNS can't even find it! This even happens on my broadband at home.

In the early days of the internet I would keep a list of the actual IP numbers of the sites I needed to contact in case the DNS system was overloaded. I would just go direct.

Oh Bob will you stop that!?  ::) It's not even funny!  >:( Dogs don't eat other dogs except maybe in some rare weird cases just like people eat people in some rare weird cases.  :-X  :-X

And good for you that you haven't noticed any problems with google or youtube... but I still can't find them... well I find them now because I bookmarked them or favourited them or whatever that's called (it's only in my language so I'm not sure exactly how it's called in English).

I really love the music school doggy! Today I went to see him again! And he was outside and barking when I was going towards there. :) It's so cool when he's waiting for me.  :)  8) I'm always sooo happy to see him!!  :)
I was thinking ... would it be weird if I wrote a letter for his owners and said that if they ever needed someone to take care of him that they could call me... and I would give them my number... I mean cause I don't think they have so very a lot of time for him  :-\ I mean I know they love him and take care of him and everything but he's still alone a lot of times... I don't know...

Yes, doggies need love just like humans!  I think they would probably love it for you to take care of the doggie!  Mine is on my lap now.  Can you help me post a pic of her?  It's in my e-mail from my phone.  Do you know how to do that?  For some reason, my camera software doesn't work on this new computer.

It depends who you get the cookie from.

And if you eat the cookie, that will change things.  It's possible and likely that that cookie will alter things, possibly allowing you more options or causing you to give up control.

But they (the cookie giver) already knows that.  And they already know whether you're going to take the cookie and eat it or not.  In which case it's not much of a choice of whether you're going to take that cookie and eat it, is it?  But you're still going to decide one way or the other yourself.  And they're still going to offer, even though they know your decision.

Which really means you should be careful about who offers and who you take cookies from.  Or chocolate cake.

The end.

I would really like to see your doggie!!  :) But I'm not sure if I can help you. I mean I think the only way to post a picture here is that you first upload it to a Photobucket (or some other site for uploading pictures) and then post the link for the picture here. Because here in the "Anything but piano" you can't upload any kind of files. Can you save a picture from your email to you computer? Cause if you can then you just have to get a Photobucket account and upload it there and post the link here.  :) I wish I could help you more!  :)

Oh Oxy, yes I noticed the cat too! :) :P

You could be. Did you recognize any symbols/objects in the background of the puppy video that could define the setting as "country?"

I wonder if it would ever be required for parents to have their offspring developed and "borne" in some kind of 'birth/development' chamber.  If they could make something better than the womb?  Have some kind of "right to normal/ideal prenatal development?"  I could see something like that.  If it eliminated any kind of chance of something like the mother drinking alcohol or doing drugs and screw up a kid for life.

if oranges are also orange in parallel universes, and if they are say blue, are they still called oranges, are they 'blues'? if not called oranges then how is it a parralel universe if there's no alternate version of the orange in said alternate dimension and our version of blues is a mood or musical style and certainly not a yummy fruit? hmm....

Wondering how many miles it would take to work off Thanksgiving.

Also wondering how my body fattened up *before* Thanksgiving, like it was anticipating it.  Strange.  *Bob decides the best strategy is to ignore the fat.  Paying any attention to it will only give it the attention its seeking.*

Wondering how many miles it would take to work off Thanksgiving.

I've been told that a person would need to exercise an hour a day just to stay the same over the age of fifty. If you didn't do anything except eat over the 4 day holiday, you're four hours behind...

Then you would have ideal kids going to school. The discipline issue wouldn't exist, class sizes could be increased to college level and half the teachers could be fired! When those kids grow up they would become exemplary members of society. Law enforcement could be cut in half and we wouldn't need to build any more prisons.

I've been told that a person would need to exercise an hour a day just to stay the same over the age of fifty. If you didn't do anything except eat over the 4 day holiday, you're four hours behind...

Then you would have ideal kids going to school. The discipline issue wouldn't exist, class sizes could be increased to college level and half the teachers could be fired! When those kids grow up they would become exemplary members of society. Law enforcement could be cut in half and we wouldn't need to build any more prisons.

 ;D

That's what I get for watching clips from The Matrix followed by the news sob story, "This little girl's mother was a raging alcoholic and look!  She's got no legs now.  Poor kids... Terrible, terrible mother...."  There weren't people with disabilities in the matrix that I remember.

But if they had that?  Better care than the womb?  Cranked out as ideal as possible in the end?  Wouldn't it be considered a basic human right to be borne/developed normally?

Following this line of thinking, by developing prenatal in a uniform way wouldn't we remove the random aspect of a developing species?

Some pretty horrible things happen on the way to life, but great things also happen, randomly.

My biggest concern is children growing up in a "fixed" society where nothing changes from one generation to the next. Nobody breaks out, everybody does the same things in the same order all their life.

It would remove the environment from the prenatal state.  Or the 'nurture' part.  If it's already a 100%, it couldn't be improved. Although I wonder how someone would determine what a perfect environment would be.

*GAH!*

Why, WHY, WHY, can't I find my birth certificate!??  Argh.  I'm so frustrated.  I can't find it because I "safely put it somewhere" after having been carrying it around in my calendar (so it wouldn't get lost) and thinking that probably wasn't a good idea to be doing.  Now I can't find it *anywhere*

*cries and rips hair out*

On the other hand, I found three previously MIA books that will be very helpful.  I've nearly completely wasted about 45 mins. looking for my birth certificate!!! Argh.  Where did I put it?  Where did I put it?  Where did I put it??  *PLEASE* show yourself!!!

*tries to be productive*

PS - A big brown spider crawled over my stomach as I was laying down on the couch over Thanksgiving holidays ... I screamed super loud without being able to control it, even though the kids were asleep  :-[
