You know what happened here? I mean in my country. It was on TV. A father threw his 5 year old daughter out the window!!! From the 9th floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then he jumped out the window too. And he died right away. But the little girl died today two days later  :'( I was hoping she would be ok...  :-\ And that day when that happened (before I knew about it) I was dreaming about being somewhere really high in some building that looked like it wasn't completely built yet and I was scared of falling all the time. And then on tv it showed the number of that building where that happened and it was 98 and it just made me feel like it had something to do with me  :-\
Lately there are so many horrible things!! Some time ago it was about some little dogs with broken necks (but I don't really know exactly cause I didn't even wanna listen). Just horrible things!!!!!!!  :(

Can you believe it?  The same thing happened here last week.  A father stabbed his 8-year-old daughter and then threw her out of the 5-story window.  Then he jumped.  what's happening?!  I thought these things only happened in Italy.

I always complain about getting too little sleep, but it's completely my problem. Why am I procrastinating so much? I got way too caught up in stalking people's college decisions...
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

THIS.
I even procrastinate on going to bed. It's ridiculous...

I got more work done today than most days though. I did 2 more chapters of math exam review and used up another half of a notebook.
For the past week my life has been math, math, math (and piano, piano). I've spent more time doing math than I have eating or sleeping. Maybe my math teacher is right. Only math matters. :o
BUT THEN WHAT ABOUT PIANO. And oxygen.

Oh today I had a really big spider in my room, well I mean it wasn't big like those spiders that you see on TV, but it was big compared to the spiders you usually see here. (I almost wrote "hear" don't know why)  :P
Oh just till a few minutes ago I was practicing my exam pieces  :P  :) (I mean not on the piano, just on keyboard, cause it's too late for playing piano already). I really LOVE the pieces! Ohhh I just wanna keep playing :) but then I get tired and I start making a lot of mistakes and then I don't like it so much anymore  :P

That sounds like one I got and yes I agree that the people who are clever enough to develop such a virus would earn more money honestly.

The virus I had kept telling me that my security had been comromised and every time I logged onto the internet I was directed to a fake Microsoft site selling me a product to clear the virus. It took a system restore and a Malware sweep to get rid of it.

Must be some of the websites I visit.

If it ever happens again, if you don't want to restore (and lose all your saved data) you can still go on the internet by closing the app in Windows Task Manager (The name always changes for different computers, mine was called hmw *32.exe Normally it's always a three letter thing followed by *32.exe)

close it with task manager, go on the internet, download malwarebytes and restart your computer, and then run malwarebytes.

Took me thirty minutes because I didn't want to downlaod anything, because I was afraid that I'll just be downloading more viruses, but after reading quite a few forums, I decided that malwarebytes was worth the risk, since it has so many recommendations. And turns out it worked well.

That is usefull, thanks for that. I was not aware of this 32.exe.

I do now have malwarebytes after doing a little research into this problem.

Yet again, it appears that expensive virus software is useless against some attacks and the free ones do the job.

Good luck keeping your computer clean. It's a constant job and must be daunting for the casual user. For the past 23 years I have worked with Symantec products and they have been worth every penny. Most of you know their products under the Norton brand. They bought Peter Norton's Co and name about the time Wordperfect introduced version 3.2. (a little aside)

It might be worth while to consider a firewall that will close ports and stop renegade traffic in both directions. Trojans need to call home to get food...

I've noticed that recently there have been a lot less viruses. I don't know why.

I had symantec/norton on my Vista laptop, but it still got a lot of viruses, I had to restore it about once per 3 months.

But with my ASUS laptop, it has no antivirus, no firewall, and I only got this one virus once in over a year now.

And it wasn't that hard to fix.

I've been trying to imagine what Bob is like - physically.  I've never gone to see his profilo - actually I've NEVER gone to ANYONE'S profilo - but he posts quite often and I pick up impressions.  He's male, I assume, about 34 years old, sort of on the soft side,(he has to get outside more often), above normal intelligence with an almost morbid curiosity into the affairs of others, I don't know if he even plays the piano,  but a true friend to those who know him.         Am I right?    8)

I am bad at guessing what people look like - I am usually surprised when someone posts a picture or video of themselves. But, I imagine Bob as older - like 40s, maybe even older than that  :o. The rest of your description, though, is just how I imagine him. :)

Yes Bob does play the piano. And I think he's a little worried about age. (cause he was once saying something about it). And I also think he must work out sometimes and have at least some muscles cause he's been asking about that some time ago.  :P ... and he's cool  8) (most of the times  :P )

m1469:  Medium heighth.  Dark long hair which she sometimes wears up, but with fancy hairpins sticking out of it.  Usually, though, she wears it long.  Olive skin - dark, piercing, but friendly eyes.  she dresses casually, but not without a certain care.  Almost like a deliberate informality.
Pianistin1989 : 5'6" - brown hair, hazel eyes, slight in build.  He wears glasses sometimes - myopic.  Very intense personality and overly sensitive, almost defensive in attitude.  An extreme curiosity in others - and especially those who are in the same field as he.  Unrelentless determination.
This is fun.  I find I have an image of almost everyone here.  Probably completely off, but these are the inner pictures I have.  well, as m1469 would say, I have to get back to the piano....

*Bob thinks he doesn't have a "morbid curiousity into the affairs of others."*  Where did that come from and why is it 'morbid?'

For age, I think all I've said is that I'm older than college age.  Then again, people go to college at any age...

I do need to get out more.  But the sun's been hurting my eyes lately.

I'm ageless.  I'm like a ghost.  Or the wind.  I'm everywhere and nowhere.

The artistic mind is a curious thing. Occasionally you need to clean it to allow new ideas a place to live. Nothing is better than being outside for a half hour. I especially like the time just after sunset, when the sky turns from blue to black. To complete the experience, a full moon could rise over the sea if I'm in the right place.

TV controls our experience of life. We often forget to get out and check it for ourselves!

Birba, that's how I pictured m1469, too! But she once mentioned she has red hair and is tall...

Yes, fresh air is amazing. I can be too much of a homebody, but thankfully the people in my life make me go outside once in a while.  :) I spent some time outdoors this morning watching my boys play soccer. It was something like 90 degrees, but the shade was nice, especially with the breeze. When I came home, I went straight to the piano and played with a new and fresh perspective and I think it sounded better than two days ago when I was home all day and never  showered or even changed out of my pjs!  :-[

I love how even though the rest of the world uses celcius, Americans assume that everyone understands ferenheit

America should just switch to the normal system already... so much better...

It's Celsius and Fahrenheit, actually - but what Americans may assume (if indeed they do) is up to them; Celsius is what's generally used on the European side of the pond.

America should just switch to the normal system already... so much better...
If by that you mean Celsius, then - well, it's not for me (as a non-American) to say, but yes, it would surely be a good idea for degrees C to be adopted in America, just as it would make sense for the other strange archaic "imperial" measures to disappear from American life (but that's only my personal opinion, for what it may or may not be worth).

I picturedm1469as a person with long, bright purple hair, huge glasses, tatoos all over with piercings in her nose. :)
Really. How sad for you (though not, presumably, for m1469 herself, who probably couldn't care less).

OK, so I'll now correct (or rather draw attention to) your split infinitive instead. I do no such thing "constantly", in any case, as the very fact that I do not even read all of your posts alone must surely demonstrate.

And I'm not sure why that is sad for me at all.

What is your problem, exactly? Why do you have to be so unfriendly to me? I am the only person that you are nitpicking, and I'm sure I'm not the only person that does not use correct spelling and grammar 100% of the time.

In fact, I'm sure you make grammatical and spelling errors too.

That you correct my spelling in every one of my posts to which you have responded to is enough to be called "constantly". Have you never heard people use the term constantly without it being literally 100% of the time, without stop? Again, your mind is stuck in a robotic state in which you cannot comprehend that words can have meanings and be used other than their literal dictionariy definitions, but I'm not going through this pointless argument again.

I'm not aware, so shouldn't you actually be explaining why you say that's sad for me", rather than nitpicking on my grammar and spelling mistakes?

Clearly your responses to me are not from a good intention, and no matter what you say, it's clear. Not all truths needs to be or can be proven.

EDIT:

Nevermind, it's fruitless asking him. Can anyone else, other than dealnja, thal and ahinton explain to me what they have against me, and why are they doing this?

I have not got anything against you.

If I did, I would not have gone to the trouble of getting my extension cable out, firing up my old hard drive and searching for Schubert transcriptions for you.

I think you are getting a little paranoid. When you have been here long engough to get to know different members styles, you will know if you are being "attacked" or not.

Thank you so much for those scores, thal. I really really appreciate it.

And yes, I am paranoid. But I still can't see what point there is to ahinton's posts.

I mean if you feel such an urge to correct people's grammar and spelling, go become a teacher, you'll love it. But that's not needed here. I for one, do not appreciate constantly having my points distorted and my spelling corrected. I don't mind if people disagree with my opinions, but at least argue against my opinions, and not against my wording.

Again, I don't appreciat ahinton's comments, and if he has nothing else to say other than to ridicule my spelling and grammar, I wish that he refrains from responding to my posts in the future.

Ok I will! :)  :P But you know I'm playing REALLY easy pieces!!  :)
And I'll do it tomorrow cause today it's too late again!  ::)

Today at music theory there was something good and something bad! So the good thing is I'm really good at dictations now... we started with more difficult dictations at the end of December and first it was really hard and I had really a lot of mistakes... but then all of a sudden I just got better and since the end of January I always get everything right!  And I don't have any mistakes at all and it doesn't seem that difficult anymore and a lot of times I'm the only one without mistakes... so today I didn't have mistakes either... so that was good! (it was the 8th dictation without any mistakes!) :) But what was bad is that after the dictation we were listening to intervals and had to write down what intervals we heard and I had really a lot of mistakes!  :-[  >:( ::)  I just get soooo confused! At the beginning I didn't have that much mistakes but then after a while I had sooo many mistakes! So that was REALLY bad! And I don't understand it!! I mean how can I hear the dictation and don't have problems with it but then I have sooo much mistakes with hearing the intervals!!!?? And I mean I don't have problems with just hearing if it's a half tone or a whole tone, but then with everything together and the thirds...  ::)  :-X  :-[ ohhhh... I mean like to me those minor thirds don't sound all the same they sound different if they start on a different note!!  ::) and the major ones too... especially if they go down!!! Oh well... tomorrow I have piano lesson I hope I'll do better at playing piano!  :P Good night everyone!  :)

what's dictation?

And if they sound different, doesn't that mean you have perfect pitch?

And yes, I am paranoid.
OK - well, at least you admit to it.

But I still can't see what point there is to ahinton's posts.
Then perhaps you should ask yourself if you might be better off not even bothering to try; be my guest.

I mean if you feel such an urge to correct people's grammar and spelling, go become a teacher, you'll love it.
I don't particularly - and, in your case, I've drawn attention to a few things solely in the course of drawing attention to others that are more significant matters of concern. I have not desire to "go become a teacher", thank you; I would not make a good one.

I for one, do not appreciate constantly having my points distorted and my spelling corrected. I don't mind if people disagree with my opinions, but at least argue against my opinions, and not against my wording.
When you have points to make expect argument and endorsement in varying measure; when you don't, or when your "points" are obscure or otherwise far less than obvious, expect what you get.

Again, I don't appreciat ahinton's comments, and if he has nothing else to say other than to ridicule my spelling and grammar, I wish that he refrains from responding to my posts in the future.
But I do - or at least I have. I have questioned the logic and meaning of some of what you have written - and that has no direct connection with your spelling or grammar.

Personally, I don't mis-spell and I hope that my grammar is at least of an order than makes what I'm writing clear, but I do make typos - all too frequently - so please do not assume that I consider myself above making mistakes. None of us is that.

I think you're the only one who doesn't understand what I'm trying to say. You're very welcome to prove otherwise.

But if only a select few people don't understand what I'm trying to say, I think the problem is not with my writing, but with how those few people are trying to purposely distort my writing. I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not going to waste my time perfecting every single sentence I write.

But I'm sure most of what I write is easily understandable, since no one else has misunderstood what I wrote (and responded), I think I can safely say that it is you who is purposely distorting my words.

And this also answers your second point in which you claim to question the logic and meaning of my posts; you did no such thing. You merely distorted what I've written to some obscure meaning and logic yourself. You weren't arguing against me, you're distorting what I say and arguing against that. And I don't appreciate it.

And to claim that I'm not making a point is ever worse; it's not up to you to decide whether I'm making a point.

Can you stop with the attacks? Clearly what I said was an invitation for you to show more clearly what your point is, if they're not to attack me, yet you choose to interpret it in a way such that you can attack my intelligence.

Would anyone else think that starting another thread on "Your favorite music" and having everyone posting their favorite music be a good idea?

I think you're the only one who doesn't understand what I'm trying to say.
Then please think that if it suits you to do so.

You're very welcome to prove otherwise.
But I have no interest in so doing, thanks.

But if only a select few people don't understand what I'm trying to say, I think the problem is not with my writing, but with how those few people are trying to purposely distort my writing. I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not going to waste my time perfecting every single sentence I write.
I have no idea how many people understand or agree with what you write and I make no claim to do so. I'm not a lawyer either.

But I'm sure most of what I write is easily understandable, since no one else has misunderstood what I wrote (and responded), I think I can safely say that it is you who is purposely distorting my words.
I don't distort your words; I leave that to you. I've not suggested whether or not what you write might be generally understandable, merely whether or not all of it has valid points to make.

And this also answers your second point in which you claim to question the logic and meaning of my posts; you did no such thing. You merely distorted what I've written to some obscure meaning and logic yourself. You weren't arguing against me, you're distorting what I say and arguing against that. And I don't appreciate it.
When I question something, i do not "claim" to question it; I do question it. I have not distorted what you wrote; I have left it intact. What you may or may not appreciate is up to you.

And to claim that I'm not making a point is ever worse; it's not up to you to decide whether I'm making a point.
By which I presume you to mean "even" worse; however, it is up to anyone to question whether you are making a valid point if anyone doubts that you are doing so.

Can you stop with the attacks?
Almost everything is an "attack" for you, is it not? But then you did admit to paranoia, so I suppose that you are at least being logical and consistent here.

Clearly what I said was an invitation for you to show more clearly what your point is, if they're not to attack me, yet you choose to interpret it in a way such that you can attack my intelligence.
"They" (as in "they're")? Who's "they"? Your pronoun use makes your meaning here less than clear. However, for the last time, I am not interested in "attacking" anyone. Got that now?

If you cannot understand what I'm referring to when I say "they", then there's no need for you to question anything else, considering you clearly do not have the ability to comprehend my writing.

However you came up with the notion that "almost everything is an attack to me" is a mystery, since I have never made such a statement. I will, however, accept your compliment in that I am logical and consistent.

A thief goes to a bank and steals cash. He says "I have not stolen anything. Got that now?"

How would you respond to this thief?

By the way, I am not a pronoun. Furthermore, I must question the validity of the arguments posed by someone who thinks that a pronoun has the ability to type.

If you cannot understand what I'm referring to when I say "they", then there's no need for you to question anything else, considering you clearly do not have the ability to comprehend my writing.
You mentioned "they('re)" in the context of my "point"; the former connotes a plural and the latter a singular. This is why I wrote as I did. You have stated (more than once) your apparent opinion that I "clearly do not have the ability to comprehend (your) writing"; whilst you are, of course, entitled to your opinion, I have never shared it, preferring as I have instead to question the validity of points that your purport to make - no more, no less.

However you came up with the notion that "almost everything is an attack to me" is a mystery, since I have never made such a statement.
It shouldn't be; it is not my notion but a fact evidenced by your own repeated assertions to that effect (and not only in respose to my own posts either).

I will, however, accept your compliment in that I am logical and consistent.
Be my guest - even though, in retrospect, I might have been somewhat over-generous with the "logical" bit...

A thief goes to a bank and steals cash. He says "I have not stolen anything. Got that now?"

How would you respond to this thief?
There are numerous possibilities here, including but by no means limited to
"you must be the bank's CEO, then"
"you're the Chancellor of the Exchequer, I see"
"I'm a serving police officer, so give me half and we'll say nothing about it, OK"
Perhaps you might now wish that you'd refrained from asking that question...

By the way, I am not a pronoun.
Never mind - you can't be everything.

Furthermore, I must question the validity of the arguments posed by someone who thinks that a pronoun has the ability to type.
You may pose suchever questions as you choose but, when doing so, do bear in mind that a pronoun has at least as much ability to type as I do and, while congratulating yourself (if indeed you are so doing) on your powers of observation in noticing one example of typographical error in my previous posts, you may at the same time ponder on such lack of them as let you miss three others therein (all of which have since been corrected).
