Wow I haven't been on Pianostreet for like a week or something!!!!  :o That's soooo long for me!!

Oh this week or last week was really difficult! Because the birds flew out of the nest but they couldn't fly very well and a cat got one and we were so afraid for the other birds... :( :( I was sooo tired and worried and afraid from everything!! I wasn't even practicing as much as a week before! Cause I just didn't feel like it so much... Oh and also the downstairs neighbour complained about the water, she says that there's water on her ceiling coming from us, and then there were all sorts of people here but they don't know what's wrong they said it could be like 4 different things.....

BUT we're going on holidays next week!!!!!!  :P In 9 days, well actually I think more like 8 and a half... cause my dad said that we should leave at like 5 am already!!  8) But we're not sure yet if we can get the keys so early or not cause if not then we'll have to go in the evening cause we can't drive during the day cause it's too hot for the pets! (except maybe if it was raining). But well yes I sooooo can't wait!!!!!!! But I'm also a little worried what if something goes wrong!! But I hope everything will be ok!!! Cause I soooo can't wait to go cause last year we didn't go anywhere!!  :-\  I can't believe it's next week already!!!!!  :P  8)

Um, m1469.  There's no such thing as hobbits....  ::)

Although I do think they're English.

I forgot "gov'nah' up there.

Hobbits are supposed to have Somerset accents, aren't they? Not Cockney, anyway. And of course Hobbits exist, next you'll be telling me dragons aren't real...

I'm thinking of getting out of the rat race. I'm tired of the other rats and I'm just not competitive enough to ever win that particular race.

Yes and unicorns exist too, of course.

You're perhaps not supposed to win, and there might not even be a race at all. It might just seem as if. Just a thought. :)

If there's no prize, why keep on running? I'm starting to think that taking a picnic and sitting on the side watching has to be a better bet, if running brings no result.

Ah well. We'll see.

Oh, yes, and the Loch Ness Monster is real, too. The world would be no fun at all if there weren't mythical beasties inhabiting the countryside, that's what it's there for...

What if being able to sit aside and take a picnic was already the price? :)

Yes Nessie is real. It appears in the bass-line of Beethoven's op. 27,2, first mvt. M. 16, 18, 52 and 54. At least that's an imagination I suggest if I notice that a student ignores this bass line  ;D

mmm. Good point about the picnic. I shall have to think about that a bit. And start looking for chequered table cloths and wicker baskets...

Isn't life exciting when you start thinking proactively about it!

I'd never thought of Nessie in that way, but now you mention it that makes sense too...

Will you have water in the car for the animals? I always bring a water dish and am always ready to slightly dampen the the fur of the cat (because they don't pant like dogs) to keep him cool. Not wet, I just make my hand damp and then pet the cat. And don't leave them in a parked car!

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you Oxy! You are very nice :) Yes we will have water in the car (and we will be making stops too). That's a good idea, thanks, I will dampen my pet's fur... (I could take my water gun with me, but I'm sure they wouldn't like that  :P ). And no we would never leave them in a parked car!

I hope we will really go when we're supposed to, because yesterday my dad started saying that it doesn't matter if we go two or three days later  ::)  :o But we didn't go anywhere at all last year, I want to be on holidays as much as possible this year! I hope we really go on Tuesday at 5am!!! Oh and my mum bought two cameras for one time use for underwater  :P so I'll be making pictures and if there will be some good ones I'll post them!  :P  8)  :)

Random interjection, having nothing to do with previous posts.

Slightly bothered by the idea that sports figures rack in millions of dollars, but many school teachers make absolute mediocre wages.  Absurd.

(btw, I understand why this is how it is, but I'm still bothered nonetheless)

Hi Go! :) I hope you get a lot of piano students!  :)

You're welcome littletune. That sounds wonderful. I like going on trips and seeing the countryside.
The sea is beautiful, not to mention the sandcastles ( if you're into it).
We love sandcastles and bring real spades and all sorts of stuff to create them.
It's summer right now so I bring my son to the beach as much as I can.  It gives
him a break from music and sports. I can't afford a vacation right now so the beach
works for now plus I don't like to leave the pets ...and we have to when we go on vacation.
I hope your vacation is filled with fun and the sun.

This is a Rabbi. Judism and Christianity are very different. I can spend my time going through all my beliefs and comparing them to Judaism but I just really want to say one thing. Jesus is God. The holy trinity God the father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit are all God. Jesus was 100% human and 100% God. At the beginning of the video the Rabbi explains that this King had so many children and one became more famous than all the rest. This is very comlpicated, as God is our father and God made us through two human parents, but Jesus was born to Mary through the Holy Spirit and so he was different. It is a difficult concept to grasp but Jesus was both man and God.

Hello,

Just because you say something doesn’t make it right. The good Rabbi has explained very clearly to this Pastor in a nutshell, what Judaism is saying about Jesus. And if I was you, I would have listened to the people that everyone agrees that they have seen God and received his word and Chosen to be he people forever. There is no disagreement on that between the faiths, all agree that the Jews are the first born.

Besides this point, it is also imperative to point out, that the entire concept of Messiah coming and redeeming and saving the Jewish people  and the world from all their predicaments and brings peace , love and harmony between all peoples, is and was and still is an Original Jewish concept, mentioned by the Prophets of Israel and in the Torah.

So this is comparable to a Swiss watch manufacturer , lets say Rolex, who knows his watch the best, knows how it was made, knows all its components and the technique of what this watch can do, and then comes along someone who was not in the watch business and begins lecturing to Rolex that they got it all wrong, and they just don't know how their watch works. This is ludicrous I'm sure on all accounts.

To suggest that the Jewish people, the descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, those who walked with Moses and Joshua and Elijah and have witnessed the Kings Saul, David and all the Prophets beginning from Moses, through Samuel all the way to the last Prophets Haggai and Malachi, that they don't know the fabric and the requirements of who their own savior and redeemer will be is just about the greatest bluff in the world, for the only ones that actually do know who the Messiah will be are the Jews and non other.

One of the requirements of the Jewish Messiah is to build the Third Temple. In fact this is a major requirement, and Jesus was active while the Temple was standing, so he couldn’t have been the one to build it as is require of the Messiah, for the Temple was standing in its mighty glory.

He also had to bring peace and salvation for all people, yet he achieved the exact opposite, death, devastation and further division between all people.

The overwhelming vest majority over 99 percent of all Jews in the Time of Jesus have rejected him. The Sanhedrin, the Great Jewish Court that consisted over 120 of the leading Sages of Israel, the wisest and the greatest experts of Jewish Law have all rejected Jesus for his falsehood was extremely self evident.

Even the regular layman in the street have rejected him, because everyone knew that everything Jesus did was a total rejection of the word of God and the Torah.

One of the most pivotal tasks of the Messiah is to strengthen the dedication of Jews to Torah, to bring them to a stronger and more passionate observance of all its laws and teachings. Even Jesus ironically has said rather famously that anyone who dares to change even one letter from the Law of the Torah will be least in the Kingdom of Heaven.

In a shocking irony, Christians all throughout the ages have rejected this central teaching of Jesus, and have completely broken all the Laws of the Torah, such as refraining from eating pork, keeping the Sabbath day holy, and celebrating the Jewish holidays.

Why do Christians dont follow their own teacher Jesus when he told them not to change anything from the Torah, and that all its laws are forever binding?

I have yet to hear a straight convincing answer to this question from any member of the Christian faith.

Additionally God himself in the Torah says that he is not a man, in crystal clarity and in open verses:

Numbers Chapter 23 verse 19:

"G-d is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: when He hath said, will He not do it? or when He hath spoken, will He not make it good?"

Its an open verse in the Torah, where it is written with extreme accuracy and crystal clarity that God is not a man, for man can fall into the weakness of and temptation of lying. The verse also goes along further and says:” neither the son of man, that He should repent", Clearly he is not a man and not a son of man, he is not physical and is not mortal, and has no image and no association to anything physical or physicality.

This is further compounded in the First and second commandments in the Torah, again Crystal clear open verses:

" I am HaShem thy G-d, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

5 thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; ...."

So when it comes to the Jews, belief must be based on truth and sense, and also logic, and not some fairy tales and science fiction stories that have no place in reality.

I do respect everyone's choice to believe whatever they want to believe, I just dont like it when people try to convince other people that the Jews, somehow don't know anything about their own Jewish Messiah, there is nothing more preposterous then this accusation in the world.

And I still didn’t mention any of the thousands of mistranslations, misapplications, fabrications, inventions, manipulations, errors, mistakes, contradictions and straight out blatant lies that can be found in the Christian bible, and if you do wish to hear them out loud, I will be more then happy to provide you with the gigantic list of all the shocking and amazing errors found within the Christian bible.

The main objective for any truth lover and truth seeker in this world is to find out the truth, realize it, and then accept it forever no matter how inconvenient it may be.

Regards,

Saul

Endorphins.  I got my pulse up to 170+ and it felt nice.  I wasn't sure why at first but it must be endorphins.  Walk/job on treadmill for 15 min/.5 mile, lift weights, then walk/job again.  Somewhere between .5 and .66 miles it happened.  Then it went away.  Too bad.  Although my pulse did drop.  Could have been the pulse, more exercise than normal, listening to music... Kind of interesting.

I am sorry, I am not the one to be having a religious debate with. This is what I believe.

    I believe in God the Father Almighty,
    Maker of heaven and earth:

    And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
    Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
    Born of the Virgin Mary,
    Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
    Was crucified, dead, and buried:
    He descended into hell;
    The third day he rose again from the dead;
    He ascended into heaven,
    And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
    From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Ghost;
    The holy Catholick Church;
    The Communion of Saints;
    The Forgiveness of sins;
    The Resurrection of the body,
    And the Life everlasting.
    Amen.

John 3:16

I am sorry, I am not the one to be having a religious debate with. This is what I believe.

    I believe in God the Father Almighty,
    Maker of heaven and earth:

    And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
    Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
    Born of the Virgin Mary,
    Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
    Was crucified, dead, and buried:
    He descended into hell;
    The third day he rose again from the dead;
    He ascended into heaven,
    And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
    From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Ghost;
    The holy Catholick Church;
    The Communion of Saints;
    The Forgiveness of sins;
    The Resurrection of the body,
    And the Life everlasting.
    Amen.

John 3:16

New International Version (NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Oh, I know what you believe, that was never the question, the question was if whatever you believe is based on truth. I have explained that its not based on truth.

You can believe whatever you want...

What's steady state?

I think that if you pushed your pulse up to 170 you will in all probability have passed your personal anaerobic threshold:

https://www.rice.edu/~jenky/sports/anaerobic.threshold.html

 Steady state is below that threshold, but still quite intense exercising. I just feels good, it feels like you could go on and on. Exercising above the anaerobic threshold is of course possible but it can never be done as long as exercising at the steady state.

I got my pulse up to 170+ and it felt nice.

Damn, haven't had my pulse up there (well, not that I've measured) in years! Better have another go. I did measure it at about 195 once, but that was twenty years ago...

Most Christians would say, I think, that if what you believe is based on truth, it's not religion.  Religious belief--faith--is, by most definitions, a firm trust in something that has no conclusive proof.

On second thought, you said "truth", not "proof", so I guess my point is somewhat tangential.  But you also said "explained", which implies some kind of proof.  A believer might say their faith isn't something to be explained, on any level.  Religion dealing with the supernatural, kind of precludes human understanding.

Just playing devil's advocate, if you will...  ;)

If Judaism wasn’t 100 percent true, both factually and historically, then no sane person would have believed or followed it. Rational  and intelligent people don't perform commandments out of blind faith. Intelligent people do things because they are firmly based in reality and fact, and of course history.

But again, all three major religions agree that the Torah and Jewish history is 100 percent true, The Christians and the Muslims both agree to the Jews because they base their faiths on Jewish history and religion.

The only arguments are with some scientists and atheists who demand to have a private Mount Sinai revelation in order to believe in the existence of God.

But God doesn’t perform this astonishing revelation for every person and every generation. He did it once, and there are millions of eye witnesses and recorders of history who preserved this revelation extremely carefully and passed it down the generation from father to son for thousands of years. In fact every single Jewish Torah is completely identical, not even one mistake in even one letter, after 2 thousands of years separation while the Jews were in exile they have returned to Israel, and each congregation brought the same exact Book, no errors, no mistakes even though there was no telephone, internet or means of communication.

The perseveration of Jewish history is extremely accurate and trustworthy, and there is no way in the world that what we Jews read about our forefathers, our deliverance from the hands of the Egyptians by Moses with the mighty Hand of God, was some kind of a prank. Millions of people all throughout 3300 years dont perform the demanding 613 commandments of the Torah because we 'believe', but rather we do it because we 'Know'.

After knowledge then comes faith, but blind empty faith is no for us, we are against that.

Best Wishes,

Saul

Ah, interesting.  I was listening to music, jogging instead of walking -- I had been alternating walking and jogging to keep my pulse above 130 -- and was daydreaming about chasing a thief.  Then I looked down and noticed my pulse was 170+.  The little monitor wasn't tracking it higher than that for some reason.  And I remember thinking "I could keep running if I wanted to" instead of just boosting my pulse.  And I started thinking of all the things I could cross off on my 'to do' list today.  It was nice while it lasted.

Eat a cake and celebrate cause it's my birthday  :P  :D  :) Oh... now I won't be able to see my Pianostreet cake!!  :( Can someone please take a picture of my Pianostreet cake? It will be on my profile on August 11 (at least it should be I think)...  :P  8) Oh well gotta go now!!!! Bye everyone till about August 20!  :-*

A little late- but happy belated birthday! And hope you're having fun on vacation! I love the water and swimming! I was on vacation on your birthday... so I'll wish you a happy birthday now, almost a week late. But I did eat cake August 11. Actually we had cake almost everyday for dessert, hahaha.  ;D

In a few days, I'll probably be on vacation again. What an awesome summer! Too bad that means I have to leave my piano behind, again. :(

Excellent! I've seen some of my neighbors do the run/walk thing and there is a form of workout that employs the same system. If you can't get outside there are treadmills that will automatically keep you at a certain pulse rate.

And to littletune, a Happy Birthday. Hope you had a great vacation.

Intelligent people do things because they are firmly based in reality and fact, and of course history.
That's why most intelligent people don't believe in a biblical god, because there is no scientific evidence of god.

Just because something can't be proven scientifically doesn't mean it isn't true. To say that nothing is true unless there is scientific evidence for it doesn't really make sense, it's kinda self-refuting... because you have no scientific evidence to back up that statement :P Just my thoughts, not trying to argue...

Speaking of walking and jogging and pulse yesterday I decided to estimate my maximum oxygen consumption (VO2 max) using the Rockport Fitness Walking test:
https://www.brianmac.co.uk/rockport.htm

I read about it in my bio textbook and thought it would be fun. Plus I needed to reassure myself that I had some endurance...
(I am such a bio nerd. :) )

And on my mind right now.
Sometimes, I wonder if my piano pieces are too difficult for me. Maybe I shouldn't be in grade 10, agh. I've been trying forever and I just can't memorize my prelude and fugue. It's funny because I've memorized the fugue but I can't play the prelude without the book to save my life!  >:(

Belated Happy Birthday, Littletune!  Do you know that my sister's birthday is August 12th?  AND, do you know what?  I have a little niece or nephew being born right now!  So, s/he will either be born on or the day before when you were *supposed* to be born  :).

Thank you m1469!! You are very nice!  :)
It worked!! I have my Pianostreet birthday cake today!!!  :P  :P  8) Thanks Pianostreet! Oh and I didn't just make this up, I mean that I was supposed to be born on August 22nd! It's really true, the doctors said I was going to be born on August 22! And then my mum went to the doctor for a check up on August 10th and the doctor said : everything looks great, see you next week! And my mum was feeling ok and she said to my dad that he could go with his friends the next day August 11. So on August 11 my mum was home alone and then I decided to be born  :P and then my mum didn't even call anyone first and then her sisters called her to ask her how she was doing and she said she was ok just that it looks like the baby decided to be born already... and then they were like: WHAT? and they got all nervous and everything... So yes... and then I think they came over and called the ambulance and then just when they were leaving my dad came home too.  :) And I was a very big baby even though I was born a little too soon  :)

I don't know that anyone doubted you!  But, this happens!  In fact, I was not making up that I was becoming an Auntie again yesterday!  My brother and his wife had a little girl on August 21st :).  Their daughter was a few weeks early, too!  I just think it's funny because -I think- I remember that your Mom's birthday is right near mine (April 23rd), and your birthday is the day before my sister's, and now my new little niece was born the day before your original due date!  Of course, due dates are almost never exactly right :).
