I'm just thinking about people who do things despite the fact that others find it ridiculous that they do them.  Like, Sarah Palin, for example.  Doesn't she know that most people find her ridiculous?  Of course not, because she'll go down in history alright, as the individual who showed the world that absolutely anybody can run for US president.

For example the present occupant of the white house. If Palin doesn't have a chance why would the opposition take every opportunity to demean her? We don't hear these kinds of vitriolic attacks against the Mormon. There's more to attack and no one is attacking.

On my mind now is still the beautiful football played by Barcelona last night.

They made England's best look like a team of Sunday afternoon hackers and nothing gives me more pleasure than to see Man Utd humiliated.

Thal

Indeed except I was supporting both sides. MU didn't play well from the first touch.  Barca played the best I've seen in recent memory. Last September the TV guide in Barcelona featured the team with the headline, "the best football team in the world." They made it come true.

On my mind... The most unfortunate situation when you do a "sniff test" on certain items of potential laundry, being very confident they're clean, so confident you bury your nose in them, and doing this automatically without putting any thought into -- because it's clean of course -- and then discover... They're not clean. And you just stuck your nose in them.

I am so flipping bored and I'm getting ticked off because I can't find my thread.  I have a buttload of bears that I need to make, but no stinking thread.

If you posted on a thread, you can go back through your profile and see your own post list there.  I've done that a few times to find a post I made and lost.

I know, that's annoying.  I hear a constant B-flat 2 all the time because I hear all the electronic supplies humming.  I don't hear it very much when I have music playing, though.  This is why I can't sleep without music playing.

You know, I STILL get nervous at piano lessons   :-\  My hands don't really shake but they're always really cold and clumsy. Partly because the classroom is cold (it's in the basement) but also because I just get nervous really easily. When it comes to recitals, it's even worse because once I start playing, I have to keep going...  My legs are probably shaking as I'm walking onto the stage. And the audience has to wait a realllllly long time before I start to play.
If you can't have so many recitals, maybe you should find some of your friends to listen to you play. If your friends play piano you can make your own mini recital. And I know a lot of hospitals/ nursing homes/ libraries like having people come over and perform for them too.
My teacher's advice is to just focus on the music. She also says that chocolate, bananas, and warm tea always help calm nerves. My mom also makes me eat candy when I'm nervous. :D Also....the audience isn't listening to you because they're trying to catch your mistakes, they want to listen to your music and how beautiful it is! :)

Thanks Thinkgreenlovepiano... I don't even know why I'm so nervous  :-\ well, on Saturday I have my first exams (not so serious yet, they're at our school and are so that they see if we're ready to go to the real exams to the other school)... so I will see how it will go... and my teacher said that maybe we would have another recital before the exam...

All this time I was writing the eighth notes (like when they're turned down) wrong!!  :o I was writing them like:
   . this way!
 \|
and on Monday my teacher told me that it had to be like this: .
                                                                                   |/
 ::)

On Sunday a bumble bee bit me! Or stung me. But I wasn't angry at it... I mean it just got scared cause I didn't see it and pressed my leg on it... (and it didn't even hurt, maybe a little later)... well I don't even know how and when it got inside and for how long it was in our apartment. Because it looked kinda weak and it wasn't even flying... so then my mum put it outside and in the morning (cause that was at night before I went to sleep) it was still there and it wasn't moving very much... but then my mum put it on a flower and then it was drinking from the flower for a really long time and then it flew away :) I was really happy :) Poor bumble bee probably it was really hungry cause it couldn't eat anything inside. Good thing that it bit me I guess  :P Cause otherwise we wouldn't even know it was there. It was really cute  :) My mum tried to record it but she only got it for a few seconds.
Yesterday I was talking to a girl from my music school, cause we both like the music school doggy (she is grade 3 piano too, but she's a little younger) and she said they're going to Rome for 4 days with school! And I remembered Birba! Why isn't he posting anything anymore?!

Oh and I also remembered that I think it was Thal's birthday sometime at the end of May... Well if it was then Happy birthday Thal!  :)   :P

Yes I know about the poor bees :( and I got scared this one would die too, but then I saw that it didn't and I was really happy :) but it wasn't a usual bee... it was a bumble bee... the fuzzy one :) and I looked in Wikipedia and it says they don't die after they sting! Look:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bumble_bee#Sting
I mean did you think I was just imagining the bee to stil be alive?  :o Or that I was lying or just imagining that I got stung by a bee?  :-\

(Oh I know... everyone thought that I was just making up some stories about some bee right?  Everyone probably thinks I'm just saying some stupid things that aren't even true and just lying or that I don't even know what's true and what's not? Right?  :( Ok whatever... you can think whatever you want!  :( )

She's right. I didn't know that those large fuzzy ones would sting. I've encountered them often flying around as if they are blind and now and then bumping into me but never stinging. Maybe if it is their fault for hitting me they say they're sorry by not stinging?

I just came back from my first music exams, that were at my music school... and I did make some mistakes, but they said that it doesn't have to be all perfect and like 100% right and that I shouldn't be afraid. And so it was really cool today and I got this letter where it says that I can do the exams at that other school (which is a conservatory) and there are dates and hours for when I have the exams and it's : 13th at 16.00 and 14th at 16.00 and 16th at 17.00. And in the letter it says like "Vam" which is like formal way to say "you" and it starts with capital letter, which is like really respectful way to write that... so it's kinda funny cause we're just kids :) (and usually people don't write like that to kids)... and last year we didn't get a letter like that, I don't know why, maybe cause we had exams at a different school. So it's a little scary cause it looks so serious, but it's cool too  :P  8) Oh and it says that the piano exam will be at the Hall of Slovenian Composers. I know it's just a name but that sounds really important too...  :-\ oh scaryyyy...

Well but today my hands weren't shaking that much!  :)  :P But when we were practicing before the exam (it was just 4 of us for grade 3, and all just girls from 10 to 13)  :P I saw that this other girl's hands (the one that was the youngest one) were shaking really a lot too... so I'm not the only one!!  :P And when we were waiting and practicing there was another teacher there who was looking after us... I'm not exactly sure why, cause I mean it's not like we would do anything bad... but she was really nice and she said we shouldn't be afraid and that we play good and things like that :) (she is teaching flute and recorder... maybe I could ask her something when I start learning recorder). So yes it was really cool.
And the doggy was there too, and me and that other girl went to see him after music theory and before piano exam and then before I went home I gave the doggy most of my food, that I had with me cause I wasn't hungry at all  :P and he was really happy, he's so cute and nice... Too bad I couldn't go with him for a walk like last year... but it was cool anyway  :)  8)

Btw, the correct is "haven't find" or "haven't found"?

I encountered many of these today on my bike ride, and they were excessively busy, as they had to visit many hundreds, if not thousands of these blue blossoms until the evening!! I didn't dare to tell them to keep still for two seconds. So the bumble bee appears a bit blurry on the photo :)

Had a recital this afternoon and I'm still in post recital depression. I can't get over it :(

I was way tooo nervous. Rewatching the video of my performance, I could see my hands shake on camera... And the bench was wobbly for some reason :-/
On my prelude and fugue, everything was going ok-- for a recital anyway... until I ended the prelude with a loud BANG- wrong note. Then everything fell apart from there... I had a memory lapse during the fugue.... I looked at my teacher and panicked and she just smiled a really nervous "keep going" smile...

Oh and during the duet with my friend I started playing too soon for one part and I was off by half a measure.

It was pretty bad...
Worst of all, it gets recorded and posted on my teacher's website.
I wish we had time machines. Then I'd go back and fix this!!!

*sigh. I have yet another recital coming up, we'll see how that one goes.

Thinkgreenlovepiano, I don't believe it was really that bad! It can't be all perfect!! :) You shouldn't worry so much about it! :)

Now I have to go cause my friend is coming and I haven't seen her for a reallyyyyyyy long time cause she lives in London now  :-\ and then on Wednesday she's going back... she just came here cause they had some wedding  ::) , but today I'll see her.  :)

I'm finding that it's very dangerous for me to listen to music right now. If I listen to any music at all, I think about piano, and wonder... wouldn't be nice to play piano instead of writing this essay!!  ::)

Is this really art?

Natural art?  Industrial art?  Maybe it's natural art framed by the "artist?"

I'm not sure.  It's unusual.  I was going to say it's not affected by humans, but it is -- It's chiselled or probably blasted out of a quarry for business purposes.

For the $120,000 to buy the rock and then the 1.5 million to move it... Is it "art" enough to spend that much... as opposed to spending that much on something else?  They could spend on that on some kind of school art program and generate more art appreciation that way possibly (or take all the kids artwork and turn that into something larger).

I don't know what to think of it.

I question the brain power of the airport authority on the island.

I also question the safety of that OLD 747.
