What amazes me is that people clapped at the end of that... except for the guy in the green & white hoodie in the bottom left corner.
Yeah did you hear the performer make a mistake? It was quite embarrassing.

Was that the part where he mashed his face into the actual skin of the drum...

When you combine 6 cans of red bull, 3 packs of skittles, autism and a guy who says he can play the drums.

One of the best YouTube comments (god I love them sometimes):

I am convinced he is blind and is just tryna make his breakfast

Anyone who considers this 'art' needs a lobotomy.

It was quite odd - as the video was playing, it suggested this video:

Now THIS guy has some mad drum skills (it starts off slow, but god damn it gets intense towards the end).

Maybe, but it was so soothing to hear after the Ryosuke Kiyasu videos...

It's like when you hear a piece of music by Sxrxbjx, and the NEED to go straight to your Beethoven collection and listen to a nice Sonata movement.

It's how I've won so far... that mixed in with a little bit of sarcasm, wit and cheek.

Also... what was that video? It was just the same 5 words over and over again in random orders...

It's like trying to watch a monologue of Pokemon that can't do anything but say their name over and over again in broken syllables.

I think your taste in music, and your sometimes rather psychotic thoughts into the disposal of bodies and other dark subjects has sullied this forum, far more than I ever could.

Nice GIF of the eagle though. I had a nice picture of a pink & grey cockatoo, but the internet is getting to the stage where more and more web-sites are ensuring you can't embed their images...

It's getting rather annoying.

No it isn't.

Whatever happened to that Finnish gal?  She used to double on cello/fingerboard.

Still cannot play these long lines on guitar.  Yeah, can make the organ happen, feet included, somewhat, and certainly make it happen on a piano, but the fingerboard is dangerous.

No it isn't.

Yes, it is. The world is trying to now move to subscription based amenities, whether it's your web-sites, software, apps and programs. They want to milk your money month after month, year after year until you are dead... and even then you probably won't be able to cancel it because it will be your willing relatives that will have to fight to prove you are now dead and don't need the subscription.

Web-sites are going the same way. Also, I didn't listen to the video only because I'm tired but I will listen to it later on. I don't mind the blues.

I don't mind the blues.

First sensible thing you've said in the past ten years or so!

WTH does a legit arranger and performer like you know about blues, anyway?  Obviously you can play the lights out and make even trivial pieces of music sound like something.

Well, I say do it up, son.

I'm sure you know the Rzewski North American Ballads...kind of tricky to sight-read at tempo, but if we're being honest, I'm past few years trying to cop those long lines Pat Martino did on, for example, the quoted example.  He does, Martino, fall back into a few patterns, but when he gets on a line, he stays on it.

I'm a terrible guitar player, but I put that idea into the Hammond organ, the Rhodes piano, and the digital acoustic.  It's all music, really.

Hey - there's nothing trivial about the Halo Theme, or Dohvakkin. They are grunty, meaty pieces of music that encapsulate the heroism of their protagonists.

Or the Superman theme... that is an awesome piece of music. Hardly trivial.

...but just because I'm not good at something, doesn't mean I can't appreciate it. I can't play the violin, but I do love listening to it.

Don't be prejudiced... just because there's one evil owl doesn't mean they're all evil.

Just because one Irish person gets pissed out of their brain and urinates outside of the pub, doesn't mean they all do it.

Age? No... I'm showing my unwillingness to watch any old crap on TV. I'm decades from retiring.

It sounds like you're not using Google correctly, in addition to being not at all knowledgeable about famous television programs broadcast thousands of miles from you, at a time when neither you nor I existed.

The latter I can forgive, begrudgingly.  America now has now likely a decades-long effort to restore any degree of respect from anyone, including its own citizens.

Try Bing next time.

It's definitely some good sh!t....but the Pater Omnipotens I'm using may explain why I forgot to mention the two greatest television shows ever made:  Then Came Bronson and Alias Smith and Jones

Well... NO sh*t!!! The first domestically sold TV was made in about 1931, and I was born in 1984, so there is 53 years of programs created when I wasn't even alive.

I also tried Bing... it just gave me the finger and told me to use a reputable search engine.

Also... for a show called 'Then Came Bronson'... I'd DEMAND to have Charles Bronson on the show.

Yeah, but he's an *ancient* actor!  What would you know about him?

He made appearances in film and television that were NOT IN COLOR!!!!  I thought you people hated that.

Anyway Michael Parks was in some Tarantino movies:  he should be more up your alley.

Anyway, you can always watch the recent movie Bronson about Chuck Bronson.

Actual fact, I'm pretty liberal and forthcoming with hugs between men and women.

They just can't be Australian or Scottish.

So you just instantly eliminate 30 million people? Wow...

Now you mention it though - even I probably wouldn't ask for a hug from a Scot; considering they invented the Glasgow Kiss and the Glasgow Grin... both not as nice sounding as they appear to be.

When Practice Stagnates – Breaking the Performance Ceiling: Robotic Training for Pianists

“Practice makes perfect” is a common mantra for any pianist, but we all know it’s an oversimplification. While practice often leads to improvement, true perfection is elusive. But according to recent research, a robotic exoskeleton hand could help pianists improve their speed of performing difficult pianistic patterns, by overcoming the well-known “ceiling effect”.
