I saw a clip somewhere where they paint it on.  Must take hours and hours.  He stands there and people keep tweaking the paint until it's just right.  Something like that.  Sounds extremely tedious.

Hmmm.  I feel bad.  I didn't practice at all today.  But I got so much other stuff done.  It's kind of a reward to have the other stuff done too.  Odd feeling.

Do you notice any difference in the way you play after a one day break?

From my perspective I seem to hear with new ears and spot mistakes easier. Although I would not want to only practice every other day because with that routine I felt my playing was hanging by a thread. I was forced to do that once and it is a mini hell.

For pieces, yes.  For technique, sometimes there is that'superman' effect for a day.  My technique has felt crappy lately.

I don't know why but my technique also goes back and forth. Some days I get passages I couldn't get right for days before and vice versa. Could this be a sign we're pushing ourselves to get to the next level?

A "little" football game will be starting in about 2 hours so in the mean time I'll be heading for the keyboard.

That is indeed a nasty cold/flu/??. It took me a month to really get over that cough. What I did to get some rest was to take a pain killer by day like Tylenol and then one with a sleep additive like Tylenol PM at night. It didn't stop it completely but I was able to function. Good luck!

Holidays are great!  :D  :P And it was snowing a little today again :) well... I mean after the holidays there will be really a lot of things to do... for school and the recital... I guess I should do something now  :-\ so I wouldn't have so much to do after the holidays... well I mean I practice piano of course!!! but I didn't do anything for school yet  ::) ::) ... AND I would really have to clean up my room... yesterday I lost sheet music for some finger exercises  :-\ I mean it's not as bad as if I lost some real pieces but... I kinda liked those finger exercises cause they weren't boring... and yesterday I still had them when I started practicing and then before I went to bed they just weren't there anymore.... just disappeared and I have no idea where ...  :( I don't even know how that is posssible... and well when I was looking for it I looked under my piano and under some other things (where I thought I could be) and all I found was.... dust and bird food and little pieces of paper and things like that  :-X I really have to clean it up!!!  ::)  :P  :)
Oh and this might be a little shocking I guess but we had christmas tree till yesterday :) We almost always have it for so long cause I need a lot of time to say bye to Christmas...  :)

No Littletune, its' not shocking to have your Christmas tree up this late. Several of my neighbors still have their outside Christmas lights on. And just last week another neighbor finally took down the lighted toy soldiers and turned off the music that would come on when someone passed in front of his house!

Really? :) Cool!  8) Then we're not sooo weird! :) Here where I live I think the longest that someone had Christmas decorations was till the end of January... (I mean at least outside, I don't know what people have in their apartments) :)

Oh I found those finger exercises... behind the piano :) and I also tried to clean around my piano with a vacuum cleaner... but I could only reach till about half... so we have to really move the piano, so I can clean everything!  :)

I get the feeling that the piano is really trying here.

And there must be mice playing kazoos inside that piano.

You have to wash them before.  Chip off the ancient, concrete-d food.  Or remove the jellied mold layers.  After all that work and the preparation of food it's too much work to wash them again afterward.  I was wondering how the one dish could become dry faster and then it hit me that I could "force" it dry by wiping it down myself.  Brilliant idea.

*Bob admires his use of apostrophes.*

*Bob is nauseated remembering the "maggot cemetery" he discovered in a dish once.*  Actually that's the same dish that I was washing again today.  Yuck.  It's too expensive to throw out though.  :-\  It's more like washing/disinfecting dishes.  ::)

So... Who's up to be a guest at Bob's table?   ;D

Ouch.... I really have to get on that box of dishes that haven't been washed in .... more than a year?  Dang.

 ;D Bob you're really funny!!  :D  :)  :P
I can be a guest at your table... but maybe I'll bring my own plates and all that (I have them with pictures on them)  :P  :) ... *Littletune is also thinking about bringing her own food too*  :-\

But well... I am kinda used to some bugs in the food too  :-X because there are these bugs sometimes in the bird food that you buy... and then you can get them in all the food if you're not careful! But I mean not the ones that fly but the ones that are caterpillars, but they look more like worms! And so if you have some food somewhere for awhile then when you start eating something like biscuits you can all of a sudden find them there... just before you wanted to put it in your mouth! Not very nice at all!!! cause then you start to wonder if there were any that you didn't see and you ate them already :-X  :-X and also even if they're not there anymore they leave something behind all over the food! something like a spider web!  ::) Oh well I kinda got used to it, i just clean it away and then eat it anyway usually  :P

*Littletune is thinking she should bring some biscuits and things like that when she goes to see Bob!*  :P

*And Littletune also admires her use of apostrophes!*  :P  :)

I'd like to admire an eclipse sometime.

That's a good idea.  Invite people over.  Have them bring food, plates, etc.  Furniture.  For that matter it might be easier if I want over to their house... and ate their food and left.  I wonder who those people were anyway.

While I don't agree with you on the former, I find your latter statement quite worth of pondering...sometimes I think it's just a little boy's theory. Little boys love all that has to do with explosions and bangs ;D. I'll never forget the expression of fascination in the eyes of my 7 year old prospective piano student when we realized that we had used the wrong adapter for his keyboard. The keyboard began to fume and smell, and he shouted "It will blow up, it will blow up!!"

Well I don't want to sound like a little boy but... and what happened then??  :o did the keyboard melt? Was it still working after that? was there any "bang" or something like when there's a short circuit?  :o Once I was listening to my CD-player before falling asleep... and then all of sudden there was this "bang" and I woke up and opened my eyes and all I saw was this smoke above the CD-player ... and there was no electricity in my room. it reminded me of something from a Harry Potter or something!  :D And it happened because the line that goes from the CD-player to the electric thing on the wall (can't remember what that's called) was a little torn...

Haha ;D fortunately it didn't blow up, it didn't melt either, because we discovered it just at the right time and unplugged it. It worked normally after that until the family decided to buy an acoustic upright piano :)

They have a mystic relation to Schumann. Everytime somebody on PS posts something negative about Schumann they're turning mad. No fire but cockooing all the time.

What is on my mind right?

That three people on these forums are actually one person, and they duped us.

And I can't decide if the encouragement I got from their "existence," is real or not.

If I was inspired by a 12, almost 13, year old girl who wanted to be something she wasn't quite yet... and the older woman who was everything the girl wanted to be, but knew it didn't amount to much... and the army guy who found that music can be earned at any age... who all turned out to be not real...

Does that mean what I learned from them, and what I'm aiming for based on them, is now not valid?

I am going to chose to continue to be inspired, and continue to be moved. Because Beckys do exist somewhere, and so do elderly women who have learned that life is more than piano. And so do drill sergeants who find a soft spot for music.

It was a nice ride while it lasted. I don't regret in believing in it.

I am going to chose to continue to be inspired, and continue to be moved. Because Beckys do exist somewhere, and so do elderly women who have learned that life is more than piano. And so do drill sergeants who find a soft spot for music.

It was a nice ride while it lasted. I don't regret in believing in it.

i am a little confused on what happened with this situation.  who are the three people who are the same>  i rarely find myself commenting on people srecordings in audition room but i commented on her scriabin etude... i thought it was ok... how did someone find out it was from youtube?  that is a feat in itself.

it makes you wonder why, because she posted a very nice and innocuous message on one of my recordings, that i don't feel at all embarassed to have answered... why would someone be so fake but ask such respectful questions?

oh well!

I still dont' get how they concluded that they're the same person. I mean for all we know, roger and lady_pianist are real... unless they've proven that they're fake too?

but even then, there could be three fakes... I mean especially roger, why do you guys say he's fake too?

anyway who cares

MAN   :o :o :o

Are we in the middle of some profound, absolutely mind-blowingly geniusly profound ... drofound ... impound ... lesson ... or what??!!  MAN.

*zero skeleton boneses*

Ahem, yes... *Bob notes that 'man' is larger than the name of the poster in this case.  Which means absolutely nothing.*

What's going on?

I was thinking Becky might not be real the other day.  Step in for a concerto in a month.  More things posted.  Working on Rach 2.  Level of writing.  But it still could have been true.  Is there a thread on it?  I was wondering if someone might have taken a recording and tweaked it a like with something like Audacity.

What happened?  Where's the post/thread about that?

Although if there were... Someone could take something off here and throw it up on youtube.  That's another idea.
