Yesterday I was so sure it was thursday!!!!  :o And then I asked my mum at what time she had to go to work next morning... and she was like what, where, tomorrow is saturday I don't have to go to work... and I couldn't believe it  :o I was so sure that today was going to be friday!! And that's why my friend wasn't on msn cause she had to go somewhere with her aunt on friday! I'm confused!  ::) that's cause I don't have school or anything now. But I did know that today was going to be the last day of July! And my mum didn't! She thought that today was going to be the first day of August!  :D well great last day of July everyone :)

Eastern European food. After the discussion about littletune's country we went to a new restaurant and ate like kings. It cooked recipes from different countries, a sort of gypsy approach to Eastern Europe. After dinner we explored the area and found a Georgian restaurant on the same block. We'll try them next time.

"I can stretch to the interval of a 104th."   (which would be a pretty strange interval.  A repeating keyboard I guess.)

;D  You know what piano might be?  Remember the "million ducks" joke?  "A man walks into a bar, sits down, and places a small piano on the bar along with a miniature piano player." (or whatever the beginning of the joke is)

Yes, and now more intelligently. I finally figured out where it was after looking on a map.

Years ago the mayor of Trieste said that the future of his city was in services to older people as it was a great place to retire. We get no news from there these days and the fact that the area became a country missed us completely. From your posts it also sounds like it is a nice place to grow up and get educated.

The middle section of the octave etude is probably going to make my right hand bigger... Lol! Lots of stretching. (But it's not uncomfortable... I'm doing finger substitutions and weird accommodations like that... but it's working!)

There's stuff out there somewheres - I think - Amazon or something - only brief extracts from recordings but there...

If littletune and anyone else wants to find the recordings concerned, then a visit to the AH page on https://www.sorabji-archive.co.uk/hinton/discography.php or to www.altarusrecords.com will reveal them; the recordings are available from decent classical record stores and via www.recordsinternational.com.

22 kilos is a lot. Huge respect for those climbs with that weight.

On my last cycle ride I had 8 kilos, but ended with only 3 kilos.

"What" indeed! Although I have no idea "what", it is surely clear to you that "what" is being referred to here is the kind of CD store that would stock and order a decent variety of "classical" music rather than the kind of outlet that sells either none at all or only a limited amount as a tiny proportion of its overall offerings - and, for the record (sorry!), anyone can go into such stores and purchase them and, since the internet is no respecter of anyone's "riff-raff" or other status, anyone can also purchase these items online. Your (presumably tongue-in-cheek, although perhaps not everyone reading this will recognise it as such) suggestion that certain recorded music is only available to certain people of certain dispositions is therefore rather silly, old chap; on the other hand, when anyone appears to want to know where to find something (as seems to be the case here), it seems entirely reasonable to tell them if one so chooses, would you not agree? After all, you wouldn't go into a pharmacy to purchase banjo strings, would you?!

The same principle applies to writing the music in the first place. We composers have no idea who may listen to our work or where or when - nor should we nor need we. It's pointless thinking about that while working; all that's required is to concentrate on the work in hand and get on with it in the hope that some people will get something out of it once it's done.

beguiling but harmful; "insidious pleasures"
intended to entrap
working or spreading in a hidden and usually injurious way; "glaucoma is an insidious disease"; "a subtle poison"

I wanna know what sounds bats make. Cause I think I hear one sometimes at night. And first I thought it was a bug or something but then I saw a bat flying around and the sounds are going away and coming closer so I think those are bat sounds.  :-\ I know bats make some sounds that people can't even hear, but I think they make some sounds that people can hear too. The ones I heard were a little annoying when they were close but really intresting too  :) And sometimes they're lower and sometimes they're really high. Maybe I'll try to record it next time!  :P

We hear their wings as they fly by but no other sounds. Yes they seem to have some sort of high frequency sonar because they miss us by a half meter.  It's a little unnerving when they fly so close. We've never been hit yet. They do keep the mosquitoes down and that is a big benefit.
