Heaven.  It's some cross between a painting, a landscape from one of my past lives, my baby music and infinity.

"There's some kind of mist that circles, and it's early morning, just before the sun arises.  There are not any pinks yet in the sky, it's only blue, with a few stars hanging still.  The air is cool and the grass is damp with dew.  I am wearing a nightgown that goes to my feets, and my feets are shoeless.  I just came here to be with my immortal beloved."

I'm soon gonna start studio recording sessions for my "Styx" CD. "Sympathy" will be one of the first pieces I record. I *am* this piece and nothing but this piece. I cease to exist and only this music exists.

And are you planning on focusing your primary attention on this fact during what remains of that 17-hour period?

I'd like to write my autobiography. It would be different from other autobiographies, I guess. Very different. It would mainly contain many "burning memories". Burning memories are something that just doesn't let you go, even after millennia. It lets you go, sure. But only if you want. And I don't want. I want to remember. Music is my remembrance. It's more than that, of course. But it's also that.

do it pianowolfi!  write that autobiography.

is thalbergmad really in pa.  did you know he was coming?  how come nobody told me.  i'm the last to know these things.  now what to do?  i suppose he'll have to have rabbit for dinner or something.  (*not)  truly - i spent the last bit of money on school pics and supplies at staples.  we'll have to drink tea and just sit around.  although there are many places to see in pa for free.  like the audubon trail and park.  i suppose thal might like birds.  and possibly antique bookstores.  flea markets have music, too, sometimes.

ok.  here's the itinerary:
piano lesson for 1/2 hour (or 15 minutes if he's ADD)
mow the lawn (this will get done much faster if he does it)
carry assorted large rocks that i've never been able to pick up - out of the backyard and hoist them into a wooded area).
go get a hoagie - check out the antique bookstore
drive to philadelphia (again) - and put him in the franklin museum
not sure i can afford the art museum again (those people are rip-off artists)
if the kids are with me, too - drive to dave and busters and play video games until the wee hours.

Rofl, you two are gonna be busy I guess! I had no clue he's in PA. Thal, don't damage the tomb ;)

Piano lessons.  And how every time I leave one, I am convinced that I am one of the worst pianists out there.   :P   Sheesh.  You spend all week working on your piece, and of course, we all know that every good teacher exagerates... ("Your LH accompaniment should not sound like someone working on the road with a jackhammer...")   Ouch.
When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

Let's see.  Well, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed right now and wondering if I am trying to do too much.  I wonder if I will ever do anything truly "well" ... or maybe I already am ?  I think my life is about to take a serious "turn" or so ... and I think it's going in a direction that I am not sure I can handle.  I am realizing that I will need to get even more focused, or at least more efficient.

And, it's interesting.  While all of these things seem big to me, I know there are so many people in the world who have no idea who I am.  They don't even imagine that I exist.  I wonder, do I really know that they exist ?  Do I imagine them ?  So, I am not just small, or my life is not just small ... it's just non-existent in many ways.  That's hard to explain and bit self-centered, I notice.  Plus, many people have many bigger things going on than I... much scarier things than I ... I don't know.... life is strange sometimes.

I wonder if I will step up to the plate and find something new about myself or if I will fail miserably and be done.  And, if I do step up to the plate, I wonder where that will take me and my life ... and how will that affect my husband ?  I realize these are all questions that will only be answered with steps forward and by actually living my life.  I just hope I am brave enough.

I have a lot of things on my mind right now.  I wish I could somehow get them out ... sometimes it's a little too much... or something.  I am not complaining about that, I just wonder what my limits are ?  And, I wonder what life will look like in 20 years ?  And, I wonder if the music inside of me has any place ...

My head :

?

And, I wonder if it will ever be this :

!

Or, maybe it will mostly likely be this ... LOL :

? ... !

yes... (laugh if you must).  I used to be a sort of 'dear abby' quite a while before.  You tell me your problems.  I think of solutions.  Give me one of the easier ones for a starter.  Sometimes solving those first give you time to think about the other ones without acting too quickly.  Let me guess.  You need another vacation.  Yes.  I've been thinking about that one, too.  The price of tickets to anywhere seems to have gotten out of hand.

ps if it's about the coffee pot - forget it.  Coffee is bad for you anyways.  Start drinking green tea.  Just an idea.  Did the coffee pot lead to somekind of kitchen disaster, though.  I mean - did it burn and leave a nasty smell all over the house.  Then, you have to take some kind of heavy duty cleanser and soak it?  Try vinegar and soda with a little boiling water.  Next problem.

Wind and white, clouds and blue, fire and light, spirit and soul, it is everything, everything. The Mystery I am hunting all the time, I mean, which I can not verbalize nor grasp.  Where are you? Where am I? What is now, what is past, what is future?
What remains?
Two eyes like beams? A broken heart? A tiny breeze? A little cloud? A thought? A tear? A unity? Are all the humans one? Are you here with me?

Ice cream.

Transcribing an Agnus Dei for choir which is sung WAY too low.  Making harmonization difficult.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Well, I am feeling really sneaky right now.  Does that really count as "being on my mind" ?  Yes, I think it does.  I am thinking of all the sneaky things I can think of.  I feel pretty sneaky just writing this at the moment.

Do you know what ?  Sometimes everything looks like a toy and sometimes everybody looks like a kid.  Sometimes planet earth looks like a marble.

Also, it would seem that Beethoven is completely changing every aspect of my inner life.

It dawns on me that an individual's process of learning and growing may be the most intimate and unique quality that we each possess.  Perhaps it's even the only thing that we truly possess and is the ultimate defining factor in who and what we are and in who and what we become.

I think I may be fascinated by learning itself.

I am thinking about removing the family of beetles from my piano.

That reminds me, I ought to remove my piano from my last home.  I've heard an unused piano could make a good home for the mice who were living in the attic...  Though the 9 cats would help prevent that.  Also, I don't believe the roomies had paid utilities in a few months, the piano could soon be shivering in an unheated house.

Now I'm thinking it's time to go practice.

This is a serious issue, Thal. My best suggestion is that you hit each of them, one by one, with the back of your five-string tenor banjo (I knew that there must be a good use for these instruments and I am delighted that it has been left to a player of them to enlighten me!). An alternative action that you could consider, which would have the added advantage of entailing no potential harm to your banjo, is removing the piano from your home to a landfill or other similar site, beetles and all, soaking it in essence d'Iraq and then setting fire to it.

The choice is yours.

Thank you - so use the nearest banjo that you have for the purpose, then...

Sorabji would have known this.
I somehow doubt it.

That said, I am beginning to have an interesting idea (since this thread is supposed to be about what's on one's mind right now) - which is to write another piano trio, only that, instead of the conventional ensemble of piano, violin and cello I might score it for piano, jew's harp and banjo so that you, Jesus Christ and pianistimo could play it together - perhaps it could be subtitled Senseless in Gaza (after Aldous Huxley)...

And that's all the good taste that you'll get from me today.

Bon soir!

Use the nearest ukelele. While they make nice sounds for the first few times that you hear them, after 3 months of 4 classmates playing uke every homegroup, it gets old...

Also I am thinking about having a second course of pasta and broccoli, with cheese. I probably shouldn't though, as I have snacked on pretzels all day.

I am thinking that "achievement" is perhaps nothing more than the delicate balance between ambition/determination and reality.

What's on my mind right now is how crazy my little brother is.

He didn't spend enough time on the computer so he went off in a sulk and decided to sleep under the kitchen table. It took him about 5 minutes to go off to his bedroom to await me reading him a story, as I went in there I asked 'Did you chang your mind then?' and he said 'No, I'm just waiting for dad to go to sleep, then I am going to wake myself up and go and sleep under the table.'

Why??? Under the kitchen table is hard floor, it isn't anywhere near as comfortable as his bed.

Oh well, he is only 5...
