I'm just feeling a little sad at the moment.  I just listened to Horowitz play Mozart sonata in A Major, K 331 (Alla Turca), and I heard something new in his playing that I have (ashamedly) never heard before, and I just felt in that time so grateful that we have these recordings from him.  And, so grateful that he was in the world and left the legacy that he did, and what made me sad is to think that I will never meet him ... at least not in this life.  I would've liked to have sat with him and be around him and listen to him talk and listen in person to him play.  I would have liked to have shaken his hand.  It's just kind of sad  :'(.

I don't know ... I have been kind of wondering on and off all day about something :  Why was the chicken invented, since apparently almost all other creatures already taste like a chicken ?  Was the chicken invented mainly as a way to provide clearly defined evidence that string theory really does exist ?  That there is some inherent tie between all things ?

Person 1 :  "I just tried snake the other night"

Person 2 :  "Oh, really, how was it ?"

Person 1 :  "Tastes like chicken, actually."

Person 2 :  "Oh, I see.  Well, I have recently tried turtle."

Person 1 :  "Oh wow, how was that ?"

Person 2 :  "Well, it tastes like chicken, actually."

Person 3 :  "That reminds me, I just ate grubs the other night."

Person 1 and 2 :  "Let us guess, tastes like chicken ?"

Person 3 :  "No, actually ...  bwwaahh hhaaaa haaa haa, just joking ... boy, I really got you there. They TOTALLY taste like chicken, actually !!"

Person 4 :  "Yeah, I ate part of a human being in my biology class the other day.  Yup, tastes like chicken."

All persons in chorus :  "Duuuuuudddde.  Everything is connected by the taste of chicken !!"

Okay, so, why do we need a chicken ?  Seriously !?  Maybe the chicken is in fact a myth, and is a secret government operation, invented to explain away absolutely anything they sell us, and anything that is put on our plates ?  Maybe chickens don't even really *exist* AT ALL, we just PERCEIVE their existence as such, but it could actually be anything under the sun, walking around ... Seriously though, if we didn't have chickens to describe what everything else tastes like, what would we do ?

Yeah .... so, that's what's on my mind.

Karli,

Snozberries DON'T taste like chicken. Maybe you should look into candy again. Your mind candy was awesome, by the way.

Do you actually LIKE chicken?

I think that is the wrong kind of question (especially considering that I don't want to answer it and/or don't have an actual answer  ;) ;D).  I think the REAL question here is, what IS chicken ?

What matters more to me is if something is to someone's liking, rather than what it is.  ;)

How do we identify something? We make comparisons, we say this tastes like this, looks/ sounds/ smells/ feels like that, but is it actually that? We make analogies, but is it the same thing? We break it down into smaller parts, and we associate it with a bigger whole, but does that mean we know what it is? Maybe since you're smarter than I am, you know what it is... WELL I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :o

btw I actually like some fried chicken... KFC...  :P

She probably didn't mean it that way of course.

I'm wondering when I'll have time to read books.  I've got them but... I need time when there isn't anything else going on... Which seems to be never anymore.

I'm listening to my husband practice show music for an upcoming horse show where he will be providing the music.  It's fun to look forward to our visit to a totally different world - that of the horse show - than what we normally do in our work-a-day lives.

Oh, well, today I was thinking about it and wondered how big a person's smarts must be, in order to use them truly smartly ?  The smarts would have to be bigger than the smarts.

I'm wondering what the world would be like now if the 911 were caught the morning of, like today's group.  Or what would be going on if today's group wasn't caught.

Fun - to wonder if Robert Schumann ever went by Bob?  It is difficult at times to think of these great composers and pianists as just "regular" guys, isn't it?  but then again, maybe they weren't - maybe Robert would never have allowed himself to be called Bob.  Hmmmm......

two of the coolest pianist I have ever seen play. They were both just practicing their pieces, wearing shirt and shorts and slippers. I wonder if I should wear the same. I wonder if practice sessions actually sound better than performances. What if we record a professional practicing? Do a lot of videos like that exist?

Though I don't think it's a good idea to spend a bunch of time and energy regretting things that cannot be changed, I think the motto that one should not regret anything is kind of a big cop out.  I think it's better to just decide not to do things that one would later regret.

That is impossible. How can one know what one would regret at a later date?

I did something recently that i hugely regretted shortly after i did it, but at the time it seemed like a good idea.

Well, it's important to learn as "you" go of course.  Sometimes we don't know, but sometimes we actually really do.  I actually have often done things that I KNOW I don't actually want to do, but I do them as some kind of way to "fill me up" (and it never works) because I am not willing to grow beyond it (or *maybe* I don't yet know how).  But yes, there are some things we just don't know, and of course there will always be regrets.  I do realize it's important not to be afraid to do ANYTHING at all, just in case I might regret it later, but I can at least take some footsteps, check in with myself and see if the footsteps have been right, and then either change course or keep going.  I just think some people use the motto to not regret anything as a means of doing whatever they want, regardless of mental and physical health for themselves or people around them.  And I think that can severely stunt an individual's personal growth (so can being afraid to take *some* kind of action though, too).

For some reason I feel opinionated today !

is this the answer i've been looking for?

i've always been after the intelligent people, those over my head. but not one of them really
understood me, few even tried. i've stopped thinking about life, all i want is love and nothing else matters... would i have been happier if K loved me, for example? would that be enough for me? would i be able to truly love her back? there had been several Karlis in my life, why would this one be any different? or rather, why is true love so elusive? why why WHY???????
