I think the opening scene posted above from the original is much better than the newer version, the newer one is a bit shitty. There's also that 30 years of technology aspect of it between the movies too. 12 million USD budget vs $40 million which is like 2x the amount with inflation taken into consideration too. I admit the older version feels dated but has some real memorable scenes and scarier ones too.
