Wasn't there something about music composed for keyboard instruments about this forum?

Oh wait, I just found under a dumpster a grand piano, can you please tell me how much it costs to make for good music with or sell?

And also, am I allowed to play some of the Chopin préludes, even if my teacher says it's wrong?

And which Beethoven is the hardest?  Asking for a friend.

My name is Nellie, and I take pride in helping protect the children of my community through active leadership roles in my local church and in the Boy Scouts of America.  Bad word make me sad.

Yes, but answering in those threads won't win you this entire forum thread... and it's a matter of pride.

Oh wait, I just found under a dumpster a grand piano, can you please tell me how much it costs to make for good music with or sell?

Keep it - a piano in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

And also, am I allowed to play some of the Chopin préludes, even if my teacher says it's wrong?

No... The elders of this forum got together and decided it was in our best interest not for you to play Chopin - humanity couldn't bear your rendition of it. Try some sxrxbjx.

And which Beethoven is the hardest?  Asking for a friend.

His 33rd sonata was ultimately the most difficult. I think just before he died, he drank 3/5th's of whiskey and created one of the most difficult pieces on the planet. It's in 4 movements, so I believe it's called 4'33".

On the other hand - I can't believe there are shops and online music stores that CHARGE for the score of 4'33". Is that like the worlds biggest joke or what?

No.

My teacher says I cannot play it until I can play it slowly.

Am I allowed to play it anyway, or should I wait until my teacher says I'm ready?

But I'm concerned because my teacher says I need to work on my dynamics and touch.

Do you think I can practice it on my own, even though my teacher says not to?

I ALREADY SAID YES... Play it as loud as you can.

But my teacher said I'm not ready yet.

What other songs do you think I can learn while I'm preparing to be allowed to play 4'33"?

Do you think a Bach or is that too hard?  Bach sounds really hard.  But I can play the Hammerklavier, and all of Chopin's Scherzi and Ballades.

So which Bach do you think I should play?  And will my teacher get mad at me if I play a Bach?

Yes teacher will get mad and smack you over the Bach until your Bach bleeds and you can no longer lie on your Bach. Just don't even talk about Debussy.

Which fingerings should I use for Debussy?

They all seem good fingerings, but is there a right one so that my teacher won't get mad at me?

Also which is the best of Debussy?

Maybe try the inverted 24 glissando with the RH?

So long you are not too rough the teacher wont get mad. You can always practice fingering with the teacher themselves, it is good training and an experienced teacher knows a lot of fingering which are quite effective!

Also which is the best of Debussy?

Is young Debussy forgiving if one hits the instrument too hard or not so delicate?

And is that older Debussy needs more knowledge with foot to use pedal?

You should never be rough and harsh with your playing unless the Debussy calls for it.

And is that older Debussy needs more knowledge with foot to use pedal?
Too much pedal is really dangerous when dealing with older Debussy. Generally avoid old Debussy when behind the wheel, it can cause a lot of frustration and can be quite dangerous.

Yeah, such stimulating conversation among reefer addicts.  "Dude, have you ever really looked at your hands?  It's like looking into the night sky, full of stars!  If you really start thinking about it!  These mashed potatoes are totally gritty, man!  So good!"  How many great novelists preferred weed to booze?

None?

Well, the epistles of Paul had some strong words, as does the current Catechism of the RCC, but I wouldn't take it too seriously.

In my opinion, the current dogma of the RCC rests upon the notion of respect for one's mate, and fornication of whatever kind, bestiality, extra-marital affairs, and so forth, is held to be unnatural.

I don't pretend to be a not-fornicator, but it's internally consistent, I guess.

What the hell, I perv on my "students" at work every damned day, but at least they know they are appreciated.

I'm Scottish born and never got into the spirit of Scottish Football. Over there, it's more serious than Religion is. If you're Catholic, you HAVE TO go for Celtic; Protestant... you support Rangers.

Go into a pub and cheer on Celtic in front of a Rangers fan... you'll probably get glassed. At least you don't get that too much with Australia Football... although I don't know why they call it football, when half the time they're hugging the damn ball.

Lol I know some who are very masculine, much more so than us girly weak piano players lo0ol

I'm Scottish born, so I'm as hard as nails and definitely don't exude anything but masculinity.

I'm Christian and never done such things nor encourage others to do so.

I think the Christians have been a little more progressive than the Catholics... maybe I had meant to use 'Catholics' instead of Christians... although to me they seem almost interchangeable.

There are progressive Catholics too which are starting to become a larger and larger portion. Fundamentalism really doesn't cut it for the newer generation and that is for the better. What are you blathering on about?  Do you suppose that Roman Catholics don't consider themselves Christians?  It's right there in the Nicene Creed, pronounced at every mass (except for a certain period when the shorter Apostles' Creed is substituted).  Christians first, then Catholic second, then rite (Roman, Orthodox of various kinds) at a finer level of granularity.

Other sects probably think The Church sacrifices babies at the altar, but I don't know much about those various protestant sects.

RCC:  pro-science (at least among the Jesuits), pro-evolution, pro-environmentalism, pro-economic egalitarianism.  They have some issues, in fact, many structural issues, but The Church is pretty much a bunch of progressive leftist hippies compared to many other sects.  There are factions within The Church, of course, but a great many are indeed politically active very much on the side of leftists by many standards.  Liberation Theology, for example, has a history of political activism in developing nations in Latin America, for example, and elsewhere.

And even though they pronounce it wrong, they love the Latin language, i.e. the universal language for nearly two millenia.  And anybody who doesn't "do" Latin can go pound sand, as it should be!  I don't own a copy of the *Nova Vulgata*, but the Sixto-Clementine Vulgate is the only translation I can authorize.

Leviticus doesn't apply to Christians. Your out of context reading doesn't stand up sorry. We widely accept many "abominations" and things worthy of death listed in the old testament (charging interest on loans, eating pork, a disrespectful child cursing their father or mother etc). You need to understand that there is progression and an unveiling of understanding over time, a common pattern when reading the bible. You can't blatantly apply ancient world law to today, you cannot read the bible with a contemporary perspective without understanding the ancient historical context. So yeah, better not try to discuss this unless you actually understand beyond the superficial level. I'm sure you'd have some ultra fundamentalists believe in what you are saying though, but they are a dying breed, people today don't really respect those perspectives and for good reasons.

I'm sure life would be better for many who no longer believe in a demented version of Christianity which aims to segregate and focuses on atonement theory.
