I quote from https://www.thesaurus.com/e/grammar/new-years/:

Quote
It’s that tricky apostrophe (or lack thereof) that trips up most people.

As we know, apostrophes are used to show possession or take the place of omitted letters in contractions. In the case of New Year’s, we’re talking about possession: the phrase “New Year’s” is a common shortening of both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, two holidays that celebrate the beginning of a new year. In the names of these days, the apostrophe indicates possession in that they are referring to “The Eve of the New Year” and “The Day of the New Year.”

Example 1: New Year’s Day
Example 2: New Year’s Eve
Example 3: New Year’s resolutions (resolutions made on New Year’s Eve/Day)
Example 4: New Year’s party (a New Year’s Eve/Day party)

Note that only Day and Eve are capitalized in the above examples, as they’re the names of specific holidays.

But to make it even more confusing, you should also use the ’s even when New Year’s stands alone as long as you’re talking about one or both of the two holidays. For example: “Let’s plan to get together for New Year’s.”

Here, the ’s implies Eve or Day. You should, however, probably get a bit more specific with your friends so they don’t show up on New Year’s Eve when you’re in your pajamas and were actually inviting them to brunch on New Year’s Day. Just saying.

Given that some of the users were still on Dec 31st, and an undetermined amount of people were in 2022, it was still grammatically correct for me to use the term 'Happy New Years'.

You do realise that 'time' is just a concept we made up. Time doesn't exist in the natural universe. What is 5pm technically??? It's not really a constant because only approx 1/24 of the planet acknowledges 5pm at the same time as each other.

Something for time exists.  Except if it's like space and it stretches or contracts... How would you be aware of it changing like that?

With relativity, I've wondered if the experience of time passing is the same where ever you area, despite there being a difference in gravity or something where time moves faster or slower.  For the personal experience, would anyone actually sense things moving faster or slower or would be the same where ever you are?

One would not necessarily be aware.  Time contraction and dilation is a part of textbook physics, and has been for about eight or ten decades or so.

Time in the abstract exists, however.  It takes a licking, but it keeps on ticking.

Are you kidding me? All the time.

Have you ever been in a piano lesson and for the 8th lesson in a row you're trying to teach little Mickey or Susan in Year 1 how to play jingle bells, but they haven't practiced because they have Tennis on Mondays, Dance on Tuesdays, English tutoring on Wednesdays, Horse riding on Thursdays, Yoga on Fridays, and they do Sports all Weekend... and then they wonder why they're not getting better at the song, and you wonder why you bother at all???

Time REALLY drags then... I can assure you.

Yeah.  Her name is Mary Elizabeth Winstead.  Not that I've seen most of her filmography on purpose or anything!

She's a bit hit and miss - she wasn't bad in Gemini Man, but she absolutely SUCKED in Kate.

It's amazing to think what terribly antiquated superstitions there are still out there in the world. People think owls are witches...

...they're clearly vampires. NO, wait - that's Ostriches. Ostriches are the vampires, Owls are the witches, and clearly swans are succubi who will steal children's souls.

Do you like Huey Lewis and The News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

I'll admit, I've never seen the movie - just this scene. Is it actually worth watching?
