ETA and the John Wick movies were pretty weak, IMHO.  So much fancy sh*t with the cameras!  I know a lot of people liked them, but I want to taste blood in my mouth when in an action movie.  Same with car chase movies.

Actually, I want to revise my opinion of at least the first John Wick movie:  the final delay when whatsisface punches the blade in the last marauder's throat.  With his fist, mind you, not like some sissy slashing away with a blade.

Most action movies suck. All those stupid car chases and fighting scenes that do not even look real. And today most films are ruined by CGI that is easy to spot by naked eye.

Films must either make sense or at least have some proper gore. The Koreans sometimes know how to do it.

I'm going to have to pass on that:  sounds a little sausage-festy.  Plus you keep capitalizing my user name, so I secretly want to murder you.  It's not an actual name, you know, nor even my initials IRL, it's just a glyph.

outin just has questionable taste in movies.  But, she is right that most action movies aren't that good.  In fact, most of anything isn't very good. 

But I would be an enthusiastic participant in anything that involves mocking her lack of appreciation for the finer things.  She probably doesn't even know about Sammo Hung's contribution to the fine art of kung fu movies!

But I'll give her credit for agreeing that old Keanu "Rhymes with Spray-On Glue" Reeves is a doofus, and that the John Wick movies, while they had their moments, also had a lot of special fx gimmickry.  They're not unwatchable, like the Fast and Furious franchise or the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds (the original was a classic, even down to the ineptness of the non-car-chase moments).

However, she's not wrong that there has never been a good car-chase action movie that's been done with CGI.  I can't think of one single good car movie that was done with anything but practical effects and stuntmen and stuntwomen.  I think even Final Destination 2 was 100% practical effects.  Not sure, but at least they did it well.  I defy anyone to name a good car-chase movie that wasn't done the old-fashioned way.  If it exists and was done with cartoon CGI, it's not a good car-chase movie.  QED.

The goons fixed the Youtube sizing problem, which is pretty good, and anyone with a working finger can flick your mp4 button, to the delight of all.  I think it's good enough.

But, I admit, while mp4 and webm support would be nice, I have to guess that involves some extra coding or importing a few libraries, which I wouldn't want to do.

Supporting time codes for youtube clips would be nice, though.

But Sammo Hung?  He was and perhaps still is great  Rough contemporary of Jackie Chan in Hong Kong, his main thing, like in Magnificent Butcher was that he was pretty chubby but he still kicked ass at fighting.

I think outin was confused and thought Sammo Hung was hanging major dong and she got excited, but he was a great actor and fighter, as well as a very important producer and fight choreographer, who got a chance to find his roots as an extraordinary action fighter again in Sha Po Lang.
