I'd say the opposite actually - they are so cringeworthy, that I find them so awful and wretched to watch, and I'd rather spare my poor brain having to suffer through watching something so juvenile and spend it on something more productive, intelligent  and meaningful, like checking my tax return... or getting a prostate exam.

To be fair, the UK had equal to or exceeding 90% taxation at least during the 1970s, for top earners, which hit many if not most of Britain's Tastemakers pretty hard.  Rockers and musicians of all stripes not generally being known for restraint and financial acumen.
